Operating fault
If a speed limiter malfunction occurs,
t h e s p e e d i s r e p l a c e d b y fl a s h i n g
dashes. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer
to have the system checked.
Activating/deactivating the limiter
Switch the speed limiter on by
pressing button 4 .
Programming
Place the dial 1 in the LIMIT posi-
tion. The limiter is not yet active.
By default, the display indicates
the last speed programmed: Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to position "0" : the
speed limiter mode is deselected.
The display returns to the distance
recorder.
In the event of a steep descent
or sharp acceleration, the
speed limiter will not be able
to prevent the vehicle from
exceeding the programmed speed.
In any event, the speed limiter cannot
replace the need to observe speed
limits, nor can it replace the need for
vigilance and responsibility on the
part of the driver.
The driver must remain alert and stay
in complete control of his vehicle.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly.
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
Set the speed value by pressing but-
ton 2 or 3 ( e . g . : 7 0 m p h ( 1 1 0 k m / h ) .
You can then change the programmed
speed using buttons 2 and 3 :
- b y + o r - 1 m p h ( 1 k m / h ) = s h o r t press,
- b y + o r - 5 m p h ( 5 k m / h ) = l o n g press,
- i n s t e p s o f + o r - 5 m p h ( 5 k m / h ) = maintained press. Exceeding the programmed
speed
Pressing the accelerator pedal to
exceed the programmed speed will
not have any effect, unless you press
the pedal
fi r m l y passing the point of
resistance .
The speed limiter is deactivated tempo-
rarily and the programmed speed,
w h i c h i s s t i l l d i s p l a y e d , fl a s h e s .
Returning to the programmed speed,
by means of intentional or uninten-
tional deceleration of the vehicle,
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g a u t o m a t i c a l l y
and reactivates the speed limiter.
Switch the speed limiter off by
pressing button 4 : the display
c o n fi r m s t h a t i t i s o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the speed limiter back on
by pressing button 4 again.

Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding
of the programmed speed results in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d o n
the display.
Returning to the programmed speed,
by means of intentional or uninten-
tional deceleration of the vehicle,
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g a u t o m a t i c a l l y .
Using the accelerator:
exceed the memorised speed
until the required speed is
reached,
press button 2 or 3 .
Programming
Place switch 1 in the CRUISE
position. The cruise control is
not yet active and no speed has
been memorised. The display
indicates: Cancelling the cruise control
Switch the cruise control off by
pressing button 4 : the display
c o n fi r m s t h a t i t i s o f f ( O F F ) .
When changing the memo-
rised reference speed by
means of a maintained
press, pay attention as the
speed can increase or de-
crease rapidly.
Do not use the cruise control on slip-
p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
In the event of a steep slope, the
cruise control cannot prevent the
vehicle from exceeding the pro-
grammed speed.
In any event, the cruise control
cannot replace the need to comply
with speed limits, nor can it replace
the need for vigilance and responsi-
bility on the part of the driver.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly.
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
It is advisable to keep your feet near
the pedals.
Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required
speed, then press button 2 or 3
( e . g . : 7 0 m p h ( 1 1 0 k m / h ) ) .
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to position "0" : the
cruise control mode is dese-
lected. The display returns to the
distance recorder. Operating fault

CHANGING A WINDSCREEN WIPER BLADE
Changing a front wiper blade
Lift the wiper arm.
Unclip the blade and remove it.
Fit the new blade.
Push back the wiper arm.
Note: t h e s h o r t e s t b l a d e i s fi t t e d o n
the right-hand wiper arm.
Changing the rear wiper blade
Lift the wiper arm.
Unclip the blade and remove it.
Fit the new blade.
Push back the wiper arm.
ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION
After the engine has stopped, certain
functions (doors, windscreen wipers,
electric windows, courtesy light, audio
equipment, dipped headlamps, etc.)
can only be used for a cumulative
duration of thirty minutes, to prevent
discharging of the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
message informing you of the switch
to economy mode appears on the
multifunction display and the active
functions are put on standby.
These functions are reactivated auto-
matically next time the vehicle is driven.
To resume the use of these functions
immediately, start the engine and let
it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be
double the duration for which the en-
gine is left running. However, this pe-
r i o d w i l l a l w a y s b e b e t w e e n fi v e a n d
thirty minutes.
Note: if the telephone is being used
when economy mode starts, it will
s t i l l b e p o s s i b l e t o fi n i s h t h e c a l l .
A fl a t b a t t e r y w i l l p r e v e n t t h e
engine from starting.
FITTING/REMOVING THE MAT
When removing the mat on the driv-
er’s side, push the seat as far back
a s p o s s i b l e a n d r e m o v e t h e fi x i n g s .
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , p o s i t i o n t h e m a t c o r -
r e c t l y o n t h e p i n s a n d c l i p t h e fi x i n g s .
Check that the mat is secured cor-
rectly.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- o n l y u s e m a t s s u i t e d t o t h e fi x -ings already present in the ve-
hicle. It is imperative that these
fi x i n g s a r e u s e d .
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n - other.
Placing the wiper blades in the
special position
Less than a minute after switch-
ing off the ignition, operate the
wipers stalk to position the wiper
blades in the centre of the wind-
screen.
To return the windscreen wipers
to their normal position, switch on
the ignition and operate the wip-
ers stalk.

SELECTING A STATION
Press the SOURCE button several
times in succession and select the
RADIO.
Press the BAND button to select a
waveband: FM1, FM2, FMast, AM.

radio stations.
Press one of the buttons to carry out a
manual search of the radio stations.
Press the LIST button to display the
list of stations received locally

To update this list, press for more than

s , b a s e m e n t c a r p a r k s , . . . ) m a y b l o c k r e c e p t i o n ,
including in RDS mode. This is a normal effect of t he way in which radio waves are transmitted and doe s
not indicate any failure of the audio equipment.
RDS
Select ACTIVATE FREQUENCY

RDS appears on the display.
Select the RADIO PREFERENCES
function then press OK.
Select AUDIO FUNCTIONS then
press OK.
Press the MENU button.
The RDS, if displayed, enables you to continue lis tening to the
same station by means of frequency following. Howev er, in certain
conditions, this RDS station is not followed throug hout the country
as radio stations do not cover 100 % of the territo ry. This explains
the loss of reception of the station during a journ ey.

MP3 CD
The MP3 format, an abbreviation of MPEG 1.2 & 2.5 Audio Layer 3,
is an audio compression standard which permits the recording of
s e v e r a l t e n s o f m u s i c fi l e s o n a s i n g l e d i s c .
In order to be able to play a recorded CDR or CDRW , when recording
it is preferable to select standards ISO 9660 level 1.2 or Joliet.
If the disc is recorded in another format, it may not be played
correctly.
It is recommended that the same recording standard is always used
f o r a n i n d i v i d u a l d i s c , w i t h a s l o w a s p e e d a s p o s s i b l e ( 4 x m a x i m u m )
for optimum sound quality.
In the particular case of a multi-session CD, the Joliet standard is
recommended.
T h e a u d i o e q u i p m e n t w i l l o n l y p l a y a u d i o fi l e s w i t h t h e e x t e n s i o n
".mp3" with a sampling rate of 22.05 KHz or 44.1 KH z. No other type
o f fi l e ( . w m a , . m p 4 , m 3 u . . . ) c a n b e p l a y e d .

PLAYING A CD OR AN MP3 COMPILATION
If the player already contains a disc,
press the SOURCE button several
times in succession and select CD to
listen to it.
Press one of the buttons to select a
track on the CD.
Press the LIST button to display the list of track s on the CD or of
the directories of the MP3 compilation.
The playing and displaying of an MP3 compilation m ay depend on
the recording programme and/or the parameter settin gs used. We
recommend use of the ISO 9660 recording standard.
I N F O R M A T I O N A N D A D V I C E
Insert circular compact discs only. Some
anti-pirating systems, on original discs or CDs
copied using a personal recorder, may generate
malfunctions regardless of the quality of the original
player.
Insert an audio CD or an MP3 compilation in the
player, play begins automatically.

The audio or MP3 CD is copied onto the hard disc. Copying may
take approximately 20 minutes depending on the dura tion of the CD.
During this copying phase, it is not possible to li sten to the albums
previously recorded on the hard disc or the CDs. Select the letters one by one and select
O K t o c o n fi r m .
If it is not an MP3 CD, the Jukebox automatically compresses
the CD in MP3 format. The compression may take appr oximately
20 minutes depending on the duration of the CD. Dur ing this
compression phase, it is possible to listen to the CD or to albums
previously recorded on the hard disc.
A long press on the SOURCE button starts the copyi ng of the CD.
When copying an MP3 CD, the Jukebox only retains t he last album
l e v e l . I t i s n o t p o s s i b l e t o c o p y fi l e s f r o m t h e J u k e b o x t o a C D .
T h e S T O P T H E C D C O P Y a c t i o n d o e s n o t d e l e t e t h e fi l e s w h i c h
have already been transferred onto the jukebox hard disc.
Select AUDIO FUNCTIONS and press
