Electric power steering
warning light
WARNING
cIf the engine is not running or is turned
off while driving, the power assist for
the steering will not work. Steering will
be harder to operate.
cWhen the power steering warning light
illuminates with the engine running,
there will be no power assist for the
steering. You will still have control of
the vehicle but the steering will be
harder to operate. Have the power
steering system checked by a NISSAN
dealer.
When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the power steering warning light illuminates. After
starting the engine, the power steering warning
light turns off. This indicates the power steering
system is operational.
If the power steering warning light illuminates
while the engine is running, it may indicate the
power steering system is not functioning properly
and may need servicing. Have the power steering
system checked by a NISSAN dealer.
When the power steering warning light illumi-
nates with the engine running, there will be nopower assist for the steering but you will still have
control of the vehicle. At this time, greater steer-
ing effort is required to operate the steering
wheel, especially in sharp turns and at low
speeds.

section.
Engine oil pressure warning
light
This light warns of low engine oil pressure. If the
light flickers or comes on during normal driving,
pull off the road in a safe area, stop the engine
immediatelyand call a NISSAN dealer or other
authorized repair shop.
The engine oil pressure warning light is not
designed to indicate a low oil level.Use the
dipstick to check the oil level. See “Engine oil” in
the “Maintenance and do-it-yourself” section of
this manual.
CAUTION
Running the engine with the engine oil
pressure warning light on could cause se-
rious damage to the engine almost imme-
diately. Such damage is not covered by
warranty. Turn off the engine as soon as it
is safe to do so.
Intelligent Key system warning
light (CVT models) (if so
equipped)
The Intelligent Key system warning light illumi-
nates green when the ignition switch can be
turned. The Intelligent Key system warning light
illuminates red when the ignition switch cannot
be turned.
The Intelligent Key system warning light blinks
red if the Intelligent Key is taken outside of the
vehicle while the ignition switch is in the ACC or
ON position.
cIf the Intelligent Key system warning light
blinks, make sure of the location of the Intel-
ligent Key as soon as possible. The Intelli-
gent Key should be carried by the driver
while operating the vehicle.
cThe Intelligent Key system warning light
turns off about 10 seconds after the Intelli-
gent Key is brought inside the vehicle.
The Intelligent Key system warning light blinks
green indicating that the Intelligent Key battery is
almost discharged.

checks and adjustments” section.

CAUTION
Use the headlights with the engine run-
ning to avoid discharging the vehicle
battery.
Headlight beam select
s1To select the high beam function, push the
lever forward. The high beam lights come on
and the
light illuminates.
s2Pull the lever back to select the low beam.
s3Pulling and releasing the lever flashes the
headlight high beams on and off.
Battery saver system
If the ignition switch is turned OFF while the
headlight switch is in theorposi-
tion, the headlights will turn off after 5 minutes.
CAUTION
Even though the battery saver feature au-
tomatically turns off the headlights after a
period of time, you should turn the head-
light switch to the OFF position when the
engine is not running to avoid discharging
the vehicle battery.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM
(Canada only)
The headlights automatically illuminate at a re-
duced intensity when the engine is started with
the parking brake released. The daytime running
lights operate with the headlight switch in the
OFF position or in the
position. Turn the
headlight switch to theposition for full
illumination when driving at night.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the daytime running lights do not illumi-
nate. The daytime running lights illuminate when
the parking brake is released. The daytime run-
ning lights will remain on until the ignition switch
is turned off.

To sound the horn, push the top portion of the
steering wheel’s center pad.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so
could affect proper operation of the
supplemental front air bag system. Tam-
pering with the supplemental front air bag
system may result in serious personal
injury.The power outlet is located on the bottom center
portion of the instrument panel. The outlet is for
powering electrical accessories such as cellular
telephones. It is rated at 12 Volt, 120W (10A)
maximum.
CAUTION
cThe outlet and plug may be hot during
or immediately after use.
cThe power outlets are not designed for
use with a cigarette lighter.cDo not use with accessories that ex-
ceed a 12 volt, 120W (10A) power draw.
Do not use double adapters or more
than one electrical accessory.
cUse power outlets with the engine run-
ning to avoid discharging the vehicle
battery.
cAvoid using power outlets when the air
conditioner, headlights or rear window
defroster is on.
cBefore inserting or disconnecting a
plug, be sure the electrical accessory
being used is turned OFF.
cPush the plug in as far as it will go. If
good contact is not made, the plug may
overheat or the internal temperature
fuse may open.
cWhen not in use, be sure to close the
cap. Do not allow water to contact the
outlet.

1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
2. Press and hold the driver’s window switch
down until the window opens completely.
3. Release the switch.
4. Pull and hold the driver’s window switch up
to the second detent until the window glass
has reached the full close position.Con-
tinue to hold the window switch in the
up position for 5 seconds after the win-
dow glass has reached the full close
position.(It is necessary for this entire step
to be completed with one continuous pull of
the window switch.)
5. Release the switch.
Initialization is now complete. The automatic op-
eration for the driver’s power window switch
should now operate.
If the automatic operation does not operate prop-
erly after performing the above procedure, see a
NISSAN dealer for assistance.
No initialization is required for all the other win-
dow switches.
MANUAL WINDOWS (if so equipped)
The side windows can be opened or closed by
turning the hand crank on each door.
ELECTRIC MOONROOF
This moonroof only operates with the ignition
switch in the ON position.
NOTE:
If the battery is discharged or is discon-
nected, the moonroof may not operate cor-
rectly, and must be reset.
See “Resetting the moonroof switch” later in this
section.

Sliding the moonroof
To open the moonroof, push and hold the switch
toward DOWN/OPEN. The moonroof will stop
when the switch is released or when the moon-
roof is fully open.
To close the moonroof, push and hold the switch
toward UP/CLOSE. The moonroof will stop when
the switch is released or when the moonroof is
fully closed.
Tilting the moonroof
Close the moonroof by pushing and holding the
switch toward UP/CLOSE. Release the switch,
then push and hold the UP/CLOSE switch to tilt
the moonroof up. The moonroof will stop when
the switch is released or when the moonroof
reaches the maximum tilt position.
To tilt the moonroof down, push and hold the
switch toward DOWN/OPEN. The moonroof will
stop when the switch is released or when the
moonroof is fully closed.
WARNING
cIn an accident you could be thrown from
the vehicle through an open moonroof.
Always use seat belts and child
restraints.cDo not allow anyone to stand up or
extend any portion of their body out of
the moonroof opening while the vehicle
is in motion or while the moonroof is
closing.
CAUTION
cRemove water drops, snow, ice or sand
from the moonroof before opening.
cDo not place heavy objects on the
moonroof or surrounding area.
Resetting the moonroof switch
The moonroof switch may not operate properly
and may need to be reset if any of the following
conditions have occurred:
cthe battery terminal has been disconnected,
cthe moonroof has been manually moved,
cthe moonroof motor has been removed and
reinstalled after the moonroof has been re-
positioned or adjusted,
cthe moonroof glass panel has been adjusted
or changed, or
cthe electrical supply interrupted and/or
some malfunction has been detected.Use the following reset procedure to return
moonroof operation to normal.
1. Press the UP/CLOSE side of the moonroof
switch, until it stops and then release the
switch.
2. Push and hold the UP/CLOSE side of the
moonroof switch. The moonroof panel will
begin to move in about 10 seconds.
3. Continue to hold the UP/CLOSE side of the
moonroof switch while the panel moves in a
jogging motion to the full tilt position. When
the panel reaches the full tilt position it will
back up a little and stop.
4. Release the UP/CLOSE side of the moon-
roof switch.
5. Within 5 seconds of completing step 4,
press and continuously hold the UP/CLOSE
side of the moonroof switch. After a delay of
5 seconds, the panel will move from the tilt
position to the open position and back to the
close position.
6. Release the UP/CLOSE side of the moon-
roof switch. Do not disconnect the power for
at least 2 seconds. The moonroof is now
restarted.

The interior light has a three-position switch and
operates regardless of ignition switch position.
When the switch is in the ON position
s1, the
interior light illuminates, regardless of door posi-
tion.
When the switch is in the center O position, the
interior light illuminates by opening a door.
The interior light will stay on for about 30 seconds
when:
cThe doors are unlocked by the keyfob, a key
or the lock-unlock switch while all doors are
closed and the key is removed from the
ignition switch.cThe driver’s door is opened and then closed
while the key is removed from the ignition
switch.
cThe key is removed from the ignition switch
while all doors are closed.
The interior light will turn off while the 30 second
timer is activated when:
cThe driver’s door is locked by the keyfob, a
key or the lock-unlock switch.
cThe ignition switch is turned ON.
When the switch is in the OFF position
s2, the
interior light does not illuminate, regardless of
door position.
Some vehicles are equipped with a battery saver
feature that will automatically turn off the interior
lights after approximately 10 minutes if:
cdoors are open, or
cthe interior light switch is in the ON position.NOTE:
If the interior lights are turned off automati-
cally by the battery saver feature, the igni-
tion key must be turned to the ON position
before the interior lights will illuminate
again.
For information regarding the interior light bulb
replacement, refer to “Exterior and interior lights”
in the “Maintenance and do-it-yourself” section of
this manual.CAUTION
Do not use for extended periods of time
with the engine stopped. This could result
