INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM
TheIntelligent KeySystem allowsyoutolock orunlock your 
vehicle, open your trunk and start the engine. 
NOTE: It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with you 
(that is, in your pocket or purse) . 
  The operating range of the door and trunk lock/unlock func- 
tion is approximately 31 in (0.8 m) . 
  Locking thevehicle -Push anydoor handle Request 
Switch
once. 
  Unlocking the vehicle - Push any door handle Request 
Switch
once. Thecorresponding doorwillun- 
lock. Push the door handle Request Switch
again 
within 1 minute; all other doors will unlock.
STARTING THE ENGINE
  Push the ignition knob in. 
  Confirm the Intelligent Key warning light is illuminated green. 
  Turn the ignition knob to start the engine.
TURNING THE ENGINE OFF
Shift the transmission into P (Park) . 
  Turn the ignition knob to the LOCK position. 
  An audible warning chime will sound when exiting the vehicle if the ignition knob is not 
completely turned to the OFF position.
OPENING THE TRUNK
  To open the trunk, using the request switch, your Intelli- 
gent Key must be with you. 
  Push therequest/release switch
underthetrunk 
handle. 
  Pull up and out on the handle to open the trunk.
WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER SWITCH
The ignition switchmustbeinthe ON position to 
activate the windshield wipers. 
  Move thelever tothe following positions tooperate 
the windshield wipers:
Intermittent  (INT)–Front wipers operate inter- 
mittently and can be further adjusted by twisting 
the time control ring

Low Speed  (LO)– Continuous low-speed operation of front wipers.

FUEL-FILLER DOOR AND TRUNK LID RELEASE SWITCHES
FUEL-FILLER DOOR RELEASE SWITCH 
Thefuel-filler doorrelease islocated onthe driver’s 
door. 
  To open the fuel-filler door, push the release. 
  To lock, close the fuel-filler door securely. 
TRUNK LID OPENER
The trunk lid opener lever is located on the driver’s door. 
  To open the trunk lid, pull the opener lever out. 
  To close the trunk lid, lower and push the trunk lid down securely.
TRUNK LID CANCEL SWITCH
When the cancel switch (located inside the glove box) 
is OFF, the trunk lid cannot be opened with the trunk lid
opener (located on the driver’s door) , the trunk request
switch button or the Intelligent Key button. 
  It can be opened by using the Emergency Inside Trunk 
Release.
TILT AND TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN (if so equipped) 
POWER TILT OPERATION
Push the switchup or down to adjust the steering 
wheel to the desired position.
POWER TELESCOPIC OPERATION
Push the switchforward or backward to adjust the
steering wheel to the desired position.
OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH
POWER FOLDING MIRRORS (if so equipped) 
  Move the switch
to select the left or right mirror. 
  Adjust eachmirror tothe desired position usingthe 
switch
. 
  Push the
OPEN 
CLOSEswitchto fold both mirrors inor 
out.
