RACETIMER
The RACETIMER allows you to time and
save driving stretches in hours, minutes
and seconds.
Press buttonè orÿ repeatedly
until the AMG menu appears in the
multifunction display.

Warning!G
The RACETIMER feature is only for use on
roads and in conditions where high speed
driving is permitted. Racing on public roads
is prohibited under all circumstances and
the driver is and must always remain re-
sponsible for following posted speed limits.
iYou can start the RACETIMER when the
engine is running or the starter switch is in
position2 (
page 38).
iWhile the RACETIMER is being displayed,
you can not adjust the volume using buttonæ
orç.
iWhen you stop the vehicle and turn the
SmartKey to position1 (
page 38) or, in vehi-
cles with KEYLESS-GO*, turn off the engine and
do not open the driver’s door, the RACETIMER
stops timing. Timing is resumed when you switch
the ignition back on (
page 38) or restart the
engine (
page 52) and then press
theæbutton.
iYou can save up to 9 laps.

Selecting satellite radio station*
The satellite radio is treated as a radio
application.
Select satellite radio with the
corresponding soft key (SAT) in the
radio menu.

Navi* menu
The
Navi menu contains the functions
needed to operate your navigation system.
Press buttonè orÿ repeatedly
until the message
Navi appears in the
multifunction display.
If COMAND* is switched off, the mes-
sage
Navi off appears in the multi-
function display.
With COMAND* switched on but route
guidance not activated, the direction of
travel and, if available, the name of the
street currently traveled on appear in
the multifunction display.
With COMAND* switched on and route
guidance activated, the direction of
travel and maneuver instructions ap-
pear in the multifunction display.
Please refer to the COMAND* manual for
instructions on how to activate the route
guidance system*.
iA CD with MP3 files insert in the
CD changer* is handled by the
audio/COMAND* system like an audio CD. In-
formation contained on the CD with MP3 files
will not shown in the multifunction display or in
the audio/COMAND* display.
iLevel of information displayed will vary de-
pending on the information contained on the CD
with MP3 files insert in the single CD player of
the COMAND* system.
To select a CD from the CD changer* magazine,
press a number on the audio system or the
COMAND* system key pad located in the center
console.

Should the vehicle’s system record any
conditions while driving, the number of
messages will reappear in the multifunc-
tion display when the SmartKey in the
starter switch is turned to position0 or
removed from the starter switch. With
KEYLESS-GO*, turn off the engine by
pressing the KEYLESS-GO* start/stop
button and open the driver’s door.Settings menu
In the
Settings... menu there are two
functions:
The function Reset to factory
settings?
, with which you can reset all
the settings to the original factory
settings.
A collection of submenus with which
you can make individual settings for
your vehicle.
Press buttonè orÿ repeatedly
until the
Settings... menu appears in
the multifunction display.Resetting all settings
You can reset all the functions of all
submenus to the factory settings.
Press the reset button in the
instrument cluster (
page 138) for
approximately three seconds.
The request to press the reset button
once more to confirm appears in the
multifunction display.
Press the reset button once more.
The functions of all the submenus will
reset to factory settings.
iThe vehicle status message memory will be
cleared when you switch on the ignition
(
page 40). You will then only see high-priority
messages in the multifunction display
(
page 392).

With daytime running lamp mode activated
and the exterior lamp switch in
positionM or U, the low beam
headlamps are switched on when the
engine is running.
In low ambient light conditions the
following lamps will switch on additionally:
Parking lamps
Tail lamps
License plate lamps
Side marker lamps

page 129).Setting locator lighting
With the locator lighting feature activated
and the exterior lamp switch in
positionU, the following lamps will
switch on during darkness when the vehi-
cle is unlocked using buttonŒ on the
SmartKey or SmartKey with
KEYLESS-GO*:
Parking lamps
Tail lamps
License plate lamps
Side marker lamps
Front fog lamps
The locator lighting switches off when the
driver’s door is opened.
If you do not open a door after unlocking
the vehicle with the SmartKey, the lamps
will switch off automatically after
approximately 40 seconds.
Move the selection marker with
buttonæ orç to the
Lighting
submenu.
Press buttonj ork repeatedly
until the message
Surround Light.
Function
appears in the multifunction
display.
The selection marker is on the current
setting.
Press buttonæ orç to switch
the locator lighting function
On or Off
Turn the exterior lamp switch to
position U when exiting the vehicle.
The locator lighting feature is
activated.
iFor safety reasons, resetting the Lighting
submenu to factory settings (
page 156) while
driving will not deactivate the daytime running
lamp mode.
The following message appears in the
multifunction display:
Cannot be completely reset to factory
settings while driving
.

Setting night security illumination
(Headlamps delayed shut-off feature)
Use this function to set whether you would
like the exterior lamps to remain on for
15 seconds during darkness after exiting
the vehicle and closing all doors.
With the headlamps delayed shut-off
feature activated and the exterior lamp
switch in positionU before the engine
is turned off, the following lamps will
switch on when the engine is turned off:
Parking lamps
Tail lamps
License plate lamps
Side marker lamps
Front fog lamps
If after turning off the engine you do not
open a door or do not close an opened
door, the lamps will automatically switch
off after 60 seconds.
Move the selection marker with
buttonæ orç to the
Lighting
submenu.
Press buttonj ork repeatedly
until the message
Headlamps Delayed
Shut-off
appears in the multifunction
display.
The selection marker is on the current
setting.
Press buttonæ orç to switch
the headlamps delayed shut-off feature
Onor Off.
Turn the exterior lamp switch to
position U before turning off the
engine.
The headlamps delayed shut-off
feature is activated.You can temporarily deactivate the head-
lamps delayed shut-off feature:
Before exiting the vehicle, turn the
SmartKey in the starter switch to
position0.
Then turn it to position2 and back
to0.
The headlamps delayed shut-off
feature is deactivated. It will reactivate
as soon as you reinsert the SmartKey in
the starter switch.
Vehicles with KEYLESS-GO*:
Press the KEYLESS-GO start/stop but-
ton on the gear selector lever
(
page 40).

Setting interior lighting delayed shut-off
Use this function to set whether you would
like the interior lighting to remain on for
10 seconds during darkness after you have
removed the SmartKey from the starter
switch.
Move the selection marker with

in memory (
Memory).

iAll statistics stored from the last engine
start will be reset approximately four hours after
the SmartKey in the starter switch is turned to
position0 or removed from the starter switch.
Resetting will not occur if you turn the SmartKey
back to position1 or2 within this time period.
