Call lists
i The speller provides the characters corre-
sponding to the selected data field.
To switch predictive speller to up-
per or lower case characters: Select
( or &.
To switch predictive speller charac-
ter set: Select #.
Every time this is selected it switches
the character set (digits, lower case let-
ters).
To change the predictive speller lan-
guage: Select !.
Rotate ymz or slide qmr until the re-
quired language is highlighted and
press n.
To move the cursor in the data field:
Select Y or Z.
To delete an individual character:
Select õ and briefly press n.
or
Press the î button next to the
COMAND controller.
The character to the left of the cursor is
deleted.
To delete an entire entry: Select
õ and press and hold n until the
entire entry has been deleted.
or
Press and hold î next to the
COMAND controller until the entry has
been deleted.
To save entry: Select B
A corresponding message is displayed.
To cancel entry: Select “Back”.
If one of the data fields contains data,
you will be prompted to confirm wheth-
er you wish to save the entry.
Select “Yes” or “No”.
The entry will be saved or discarded

Select “Options” K “Save”K“Add
Phone No.”.

If five numbers are saved for the re-
quired entry, you will be prompted to
confirm whether you wish to overwrite
one of the existing numbers.
Select “Yes” or “No”.
If you select “Yes” a selection list ap-
pears containing the existing five num-
bers.
Select the number to be overwritten.
COMAND overwrites the selected num-
ber with the new data.
Deleting call lists
i The saved call lists are retained in COMAND
even if you use the COMAND with another mo-
bile phone. For this reason you should delete any
call lists before handing over or selling the vehi-
cle.
In the phone main menu (page 92)
select “Call Lists”.
Select “Delete Call Lists”.
Select “Yes” or “No”.
If you select “Yes”, the call list will be
deleted.

To reject: Select “Reject”.

After accepting the call, you will conduct
the conversation over the hands-free sys-
tem. The call volume can be adjusted
(
page 35). Please see the “Functions
during a single call” section for other func-
tions (
page 102).
i You can also accept a call as described
above if COMAND is displaying a screen for an-
other main application. After accepting the call,
the display switches to the phone display. Once
the call is over, the display for the previous main
application will appear again.
Entering phone number via the

Enter all the digits on the numeric key-
pad one after the other.
To delete individual digits:

To delete entire phone numbers:

Sending DTMF tones
i This function is not possible with all mobile
phones.
Answering machines or other devices can
be controlled via DTMF tones, e. g. for re-
mote query functions.

acters using the COMAND controller.

Every selected character is transmitted

Call waiting
i The call waiting function must be supported
and activated by the phone provider.
If you are conducting a single call and you
receive another, the second call number is
entered into the received calls list and a
signal tone will sound.
You can accept the waiting call with the
mobile phone. The previous call is put on
hold. You then have two calls, the accept-
ed call is the active call.

The entries of the address book can be
used for making phone calls and naviga-
tion destination entries.
i You should delete your personal data before
selling your vehicle, using the Reset function
(
page 171).

Address book
i You can create address data directly in the
address book. If you save phone numbers in the
COMAND phone book, these are saved in the ad-
dress book. When you save a navigation destina-
tion, COMAND creates an address book entry
containing the complete address data that sup-
port navigation.
Open the address book (page 104)
and select “New”.

Entries without symbols or with the sym-
bols 1 and 3 are just address book en-
tries. A voice tag has additionally been
saved for entries with the symbol 3. En-
tries with the symbol 2 contain complete address data from the navigation system,
which support navigation and are covered
by the digital map data. You can quickly
start route guidance to this kind of entry
(
page 109).
