Have the vehicle inspected immediately.
A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-informa-
tion display. Failing to investigate the cause of the following warnings may
lead to the system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident.
Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.

Malfunction in the automatic headlight leveling sys-
tem.
Malfunction in the rear lights system.
Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system. The tire pressure warning light comes on after blink-
ing for 1 minute.

■The compact spare tire
●The compact spare tire is identified by the label “TEMPORARY USE ONLY”
on the tire sidewall.
Use the compact spare tire temporarily only in an emergency.
●Make sure to check the tire inflation pressure of the compact spare tire.

■Tread life
The compact spare tire can be used many times, if necessary. It has tread life of up
to 3000 miles (4800 km) depending on road conditions and your driving habits.
When treadwear indicators appear on the tire, replace the tire. ( →P. 4 3 5 )
■When using the compact spare tire
As the spare tire is not equipped with the tire pressure warning valve and transmit-
ter, low inflation pressure of the spare tire will not be warned. Also, if you replace the
compact spare tire after the tire pressure warning light comes on, the light remains
on.
■Compact spare tire
The compact tire saves space in your luggage compartment, and its
lighter weight helps to enhance fuel economy and permits easier
installation in case of a flat tire.

If you have a flat tire (Vehicles with run-flat tires)
■In some condition (such as at high temperatures)
You can not continue driving for up to 100 miles (160 km).
■If you cannot distinguish between the standard tires and run-flat tires
Consult your Lexus dealer.
■For the detailed information on run-flat tires
See the tire warranty book.
NOTICE
■When replacing the tires
Have the tires replaced by the nearest Lexus dealer or authorized tire dealer. The
tire pressure warning valves and transmitters will be affected by the installation or
removal of tires.
■To avoid damaging the tire pressu re warning valves and transmitters
Do not use liquid sealants on flat tires.
Take your vehicle to the nearest Lexus dealer or authorized tire dealer as
soon as possible.
■ Run-flat tires (A “RFT” or “DSST” mark is molded on the sidewall)
You can continue driving a vehi-
cle with run-flat tires even if any
tire goes flat.
It is able to run for a maximum of
100 miles (160 km) at a speed
below 55 mph (90 km/h) after
the tire pressure warning light

■Starting the hybrid system when the 12 volt battery is discharged
The hybrid system cannot be started by push-starting.
■To prevent 12 volt battery discharge
●Turn off the headlights and the audio system while the hybrid system is off.
●Turn off any unnecessary electrical components when the vehicle is running at a
low speed for an extended period, such as in heavy traffic, etc.
■When the 12 volt battery is removed or discharged
The hybrid system may not start. (→P. 4 3 1 )
Also, the following systems must be initialized.
●Tire pressure warning system (→P. 4 3 6 )
●Intuitive parking assist (→P. 5 1 2 )
CAUTION
■Avoiding battery fires or explosions
Observe the following precautions to prevent accidentally igniting the flammable
gas that may be emitted from the battery.
●Make sure the jumper cable is connected to the correct terminal and that it is not
unintentionally in contact with any part other than the intended terminal.
●Do not allow the jumper cables to come into contact with the “+” and “-” termi-
nals.
●Do not allow open flame or use matches, cigarette lighters or smoke near the
battery.
