Locking the driver’s door from the outside without a key
Move the lock button to the lock position.
Close the door.
The door cannot be locked if the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in the
ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode, or the electronic key is left
inside the vehicle.
The key may not be detected correc tly and the door may be locked.
Rear door child-protector lock
The door cannot be opened from
inside the vehicle when the locks
are set.
These locks can be set to prevent
children from opening the rear
doors. Push down rear door

Automatic door locking and unlocking systems
The following functions can be set or canceled:
■ Setting and canceling the functions
To switch between setting and canceling, follow the procedure below:
Close all the doors and switch the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch to IGNITION ON mode. (Perform step 2 within 10 sec-
onds.) Shift the shift lever to “P” or “N”,
press and hold the driver’s door
lock switch (
or ) for approxi-
mately 5 seconds then release.

and then unlocked.

■Closing the front doors from outside with the inside lock button set in the locked

The door cannot be locked if the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in ACCES-
SORY or IGNITION ON mode, or the electronic key is left in the vehicle. (How-
ever, depending on the key’s location, the system may not be able to detect it. In
these instances the door lock protection function will not operate properly.)

Driving position memory system (if equipped)
Your preferred driving position (the position of the driver’s seat, steering
wheel and outside rear view mirrors) can be entered into the computer’s
memory and recalled with the touch of a button. It is also possible to set this
function to activate automatically when the doors are unlocked.
Three different driving positions can be entered into memory.
The same buttons are found on the front passenger’s side, allowing the
position of the front passen ger’s seat to be memorized.
■Entering a position to memory
Check that the shift lever is set in “P”.
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON
mode.
Adjust the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and outside rear view
mirrors to the desired positions. While pushing the “SET” button,
push button “1”, “2” or “3” until
the signal beeps.
If the selected button has
already been preset, the previ-
ously recorded position will be
overwritten.

Linking driving position memory with door unlock operation (driver
side only)
Memorized driving positions can be recalled when you unlock the
driver’s door using the entry function or wireless remote control and
open the driver’s door. Steering wheel position is recalled when the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is set to the IGNITION ON mode.
■ Setting the linked do or unlock operation
Set the driving positions into the memory system using the “1”, “2”
or “3” buttons on the driver’s side. ( →P. 4 7 )
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to the OFF, then close
the driver’s door.
■ Recalling the memorized position
Check that the shift lever is set in “P”.
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON
mode. Push button “1”, “2” or “3” to
recall the memorized position.
