3. Unscrew the bottle holder cap (4)and the lid of the sealant bottle (5). 4. Screw the bottle clockwise into the
bottle socket (6) until it is tight. 5. Unscrew the valve cap from the
defective tire.
6. Screw the hose (7) of the TireMobilityKit firmly onto the tire
valve.
7. Ensure that the On/Off switch (8) is in the "O"-position.
8. Place the electric plug (9) into the cigarette lighter socket (12 Volt).
Do not use any other electric sock-
et in the car.
9. Start the engine of the vehicle. (Only if the vehicle is outdoors!)

Screwing the sealant bottle into
the socket will break the bottle seal. Do not unscrew the filledbottle from the socket - sealantcould come out.

What to do in an emergency
When towing your vehicle in an emer- gency without wheel dollies :
1. Set the ignition switch in the ACC posi-tion.
2. Place the transaxle shift lever in N (Neutral).
3. Release the parking brake.

1. Open the tailgate, and remove the tow-
ing hook from the tool case.
2. Remove the hole cover pressing the lower part of the cover on the front
bumper (1).
3. Install the towing hook by turning it clockwise into the hole until it is fullysecured (2).
4. Remove the towing hook and install the cover after use.
CAUTION
Failure to place the transaxle shift
lever in N (Neutral) may cause inter-nal damage to the transaxle.
CAUTION
Do not use the hooks under thefront and rear of the vehicle for tow-
ing purposes. These hooks are designed ONLY for transport tie-down. If the tie-down hooks are used for towing, the tie-down hooks
will be damaged and this could leadto serious injury.

ENGINE COOLANT
G070000AUN The high-pressure cooling system has a
reservoir filled with year-round antifreeze
coolant. The reservoir is filled at the fac-
tory.
Check the antifreeze protection and
coolant level at least once a year, at thebeginning of the winter season, and
before traveling to a colder climate. G070100ASA
Checking the coolant level Check the condition and connections of all cooling system hoses and heater
hoses. Replace any swollen or deterio-
rated hoses.
The coolant level should be filled
between F and L marks on the side of the
coolant reservoir when the engine iscool.
If the coolant level is low, add enough
specified coolant to provide protection
against freezing and corrosion. Bring the
level to F, but do not overfill. If frequent
additions are required, see an authorized
KIA dealer for a cooling system inspec-tion.
WARNING- Removing
radiator cap
Never attempt to remove the radi- ator cap while the engine is oper-
ating or hot. Doing so might leadto cooling system and engine
damage and hot coolant or steam
could cause serious personal
injury.

Turn the engine off and wait untilit cools down. Use extreme care
when removing the radiator cap.
Wrap a thick towel around it, and
turn it counterclockwise slowly to
the first stop. Step back while the
pressure is released from the
cooling system. When you aresure all the pressure has been
released, press down on the cap,
using a thick towel, and continue
turning counterclockwise to
remove it.
Even if the engine is not operat- ing, do not remove the radiatorcap or the drain plug while the
engine and radiator are hot. Hot
coolant and steam may still blow
out under pressure, causing seri-
ous injury.

Battery recharging
Your vehicle has a maintenance-free,
calcium-based battery.
If the battery becomes discharged in a
short time (because, for example, the
headlights or interior lights were left on
while the vehicle was not in use),
recharge it by slow charging (trickle)
for 10 hours.
If the battery gradually discharges because of high electric load while the
vehicle is being used, recharge it at 20-

works with high voltage. Never

Failure to follow the above warn-
ings can result in serious bodily
injury or death.WARNING - Recharging
battery
When recharging the battery,
observe the following precautions:
The battery must be removed from the vehicle and placed in an area with good ventilation.
Do not allow cigarettes, sparks, or flame near the battery.
Watch the battery during charg- ing, and stop or reduce the charg-
ing rate if the battery cells begin
gassing (boiling) violently or if
the temperature of the electrolyte
of any cell exceeds 49°C (120°F).
Wear eye protection when check- ing the battery during charging.
Disconnect the battery charger in the following order.
1. Turn off the battery charger main switch.
2. Unhook the negative clamp from the negative battery terminal.
3. Unhook the positive clamp from the positive battery terminal.

Before performing maintenanceor recharging the battery, turn off all accessories and stop the
engine.
The negative battery cable must be removed first and installed
last when the battery is discon-nected.

Headlight bulb1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the headlight bulb cover byturning it counterclockwise.
3. Disconnect the headlight bulb socket- connector.
4. Unsnap the headlight bulb retaining wire by depressing the end and push-
ing it upward.
5. Remove the bulb from the headlight assembly.
6. Install a new headlight bulb and snap the headlight bulb retaining wire into
position by aligning the wire with the
groove on the bulb.
7. Connect the headlight bulb socket- connector.
8. Install the headlight bulb cover by turn- ing it clockwise.

If a bulb becomes damaged orcracked, replace it immediately
and carefully dispose of it.
Wear eye protection when chang- ing a bulb. Allow the bulb to cool
down before handling it.

WARNING - Halogen bulbs
Halogen bulbs contain pressur-
ized gas that will produce flying
pieces of glass if broken.
Always handle them carefully, and avoid scratches and abra-
sions. If the bulbs are lit, avoid
contact with liquids. Never touchthe glass with bare hands.
Residual oil may cause the bulb
to overheat and burst when lit. A
bulb should be operated onlywhen installed in a headlight.

1. Remove the light assembly from thebody of the vehicle by prying the lens
and pulling the assembly out. 2. Disconnect the bulb electrical connec-
tor.
3. Separate the socket and the lens part by turning the socket counterclockwise
until the tabs on the socket align with
the slots on the lens part.
4. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out.
5. Insert a new bulb in the socket.
6. Reassemble the socket and the lens part.
7. Connect the bulb electrical connector.
8. Reinstall the light assembly to the body of the vehicle.
Type B
If the light bulb does not operate, have
the vehicle checked by an authorized KIA
dealer.

terclockwise and removing the assem-
bly.
3. Remove the socket from the assembly by turning the socket counterclockwise
until the tabs on the socket align with
the slots on the assembly. 4. Remove the bulb from the socket by
pressing it in and rotating it until the
tabs on the bulb align with the slots in
the socket. Pull the bulb out of the
socket.
5. Insert a new bulb by inserting it into the socket and rotating it until it locks
into place.

6. Install the socket in the assembly by
aligning the tabs on the socket with the
slots in the assembly. Push the socket
into the assembly and turn the socket
clockwise.
7. Replace the service cover and tighten the screws.

1. Loosen the light assembly retaining
screws with a cross-tip screwdriver.
2. Disconnect the bulb electrical connec- tor.
3. Separate the socket and the lens parts by turning the socket counterclockwise
until the tabs on the socket align with
the slots on the lens part.
4. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out.
5. Insert a new bulb in the socket.
6. Reassemble the socket and the lens part.
7. Connect the bulb electrical connector.
8. Reinstall the light assembly securely with the retaining screws.
