WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of
the shoulder belt could reduce theeffectiveness of the seat belt in a crash.

You can adjust the height of the shoul-der belt anchor to one of the 4 positionsfor maximum comfort and safety. If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not begetting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad- justed so that it lies across your chestand midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat beltanchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. Tolower it, push it down while pressing the height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the height ad-juster to make sure that it has locked into the position.B180A03A-GAT SEAT BELTS-Driver's and Passenger's 3-Point System withWebbing Clamp Locking Retrac-tor (If Installed)To Fasten Your Belt To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tab intothe buckle. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let you move around.

If the belt is located too high onyour body, you could slide under it in case of accident or a sudden stop. This could result of death, seriousinjury or property damage. Both arms should not be under or over the belt. Rather, one should be over and theother under, as shown in the illustra- tion. Never wear the seat belt under the armnearest the door. B200A01NFIf there is a sudden stop or impact, however, the belt will lock into position.It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly. NOTE: If you are not able to pull out the seat belt from the retractor, firmly pull the belt out and release it. Then you will be able to pull the belt out smoothly. If the SRS SRI (Service Reminder Indicator) does not come on, or continuously remains on,have your vehicle immediately in- spected by your Hyundai dealer. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personalinjury.The driver's hands should be placed on the steering wheel at the 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock positions.The passenger's arms and hands should be placed on their laps.
o Do not use any accessory seat
covers.
o Use of seat covers could reduce or
prevent the effectiveness of the system.
o Do not install any accessories on
the side or near the side impactairbag.
o Do not use excessive force on the
side of the seat.
o Do not place any objects over the
airbag or between the airbag andyourself.
o Do not place any objects (an um-
brella, bag, etc.) between the frontdoor and the front seat. Such ob- jects may become dangerous pro- jectiles and cause injury if thesupplemental side impact airbag inflates. o To prevent unexpected deploy-
ment of the side impact air bag that may result in personal injury,avoid impact to the side impact airbag sensor when the ignition key is on.

SPECTACLE CASEMAP LIGHT

(1) Push in the map light switch to turn on the driver side light.
(2) In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of theignition key position. The light goes out gradually 6 seconds after the door is closed.
(3) Push in the map light switch to turn on the front passenger side light. B491A03O-GAT (If Installed) The spectacle case is located on the front overhead console. Push the end of the cover to open thespectacle case.
WARNING:
o Do not keep objects such as sharp or unsuitable things inside thespectacle case. Such objects canbe thrown out in the event of a sudden stop or an accident, pos- sibly injuring the passengers inthe vehicle.
o Do not open the spectacle case
while the vehicle is moving. Therear view mirror of the vehicle can be blocked by an open spectacle case.

If you must re-enter the vehicle, you should once again elimi- nate potentially dangerous staticelectricity discharge by touch- ing a metal part of the vehicle, away from the fuel filler neck,nozzle or other gasoline source.
- When using a portable fuel con-
tainer be sure to place the con-tainer on the ground prior to refueling. Static electricity dis- charge from the container canignite fuel vapors causing a fire. Once refueling has begun, con- tact with the vehicle should bemaintained until the filling is complete. Use only portable fuel containers designed to carry andstore gasoline.
- Do not use cellular phones
around a gas station or whilerefueling any vehicle. Electric current and/or electronic inter- ference from cellular phones canpotentially ignite fuel vapors causing a fire. If you must use your cellular phone use it in aplace away from the gas station.
TAIL GATE
B540A01F-AAT Remote Tail Gate Release To open the tail gate without using the key, pull up the lid release lever lo- cated on the driver's door panel.To close, lower the tail gate, then press down on it until it locks. To be sure the tail gate is securely fastened,always try to pull it up again. OGK046005
- When refueling always shut the
engine off. Sparks produced byelectrical components related tothe engine can ignite fuel va- pors causing a fire. Always en- sure that the engine is OFF be-fore and during refueling. Once refueling is complete, check to make sure the fuel filler cap anddoor are securely closed, before starting the engine.
- Do not light any fire around a
gas station. DO NOT use matchesor a lighter and DO NOT SMOKE or leave a lit cigarette in your vehicle while at a gas station especially during refueling. Au-tomotive fuel is highly flammable and can, when ignited, result in explosion by flames.
- If a fire breaks out during refuel- ing, leave the vicinity of the ve-hicle, and immediately contactthe manager of the gas station or contact the police and local fire department. Follow anysafety instructions they provide.
