The auxiliary power points are
located on the front of the center
console, inside the utility
compartment, and on the rear of the
console (accessible from the rear
seats).
Do not use the power point for
operating the cigarette lighter
element (if equipped).
To prevent the fuse from being
blown, do not use the power point(s) over the vehicle capacity of 12
VDC/180W. If the power point or cigar lighter socket is not working, a
fuse may have blown. Refer toFuses and relaysin theRoadside
Emergencieschapter for information on checking and replacing fuses.
To have full capacity usage of your power point, the engine is required to
be running (in a safe manner) to avoid unintentional discharge of the
battery. To prevent the battery from being discharged:
•do not use the power point longer than necessary when the engine is
not running,
•do not leave battery chargers, video game adapters, computers and
other devices plugged in overnight or when the vehicle is parked for
extended periods.
Always keep the power point caps closed when not being used.
Cigar/Cigarette lighter (if equipped)
Do not plug optional electrical accessories into the cigarette lighter
socket.
Do not hold the lighter in with your hand while it is heating, this will
damage the lighter element and socket. The lighter will be released from
its heating position when it is ready to be used.
Improper use of the lighter can cause damage not covered by your
warranty.

Bounce-Back
When the back window is moving upward and an obstacle interferes with
the window’s movement, the back window will reverse direction and
move toward the fully open position. This is known as “bounce-back”.
Security Override
If, during a bounce-back condition and within 2 seconds after the
window stops, the control is held in the
direction,the back window
will travel up with no bounce-back protection.If the control is
released before the window reaches fully closed, the back window will
continue moving up with bounce-back re-enabled.
The following are possible reasons for using the security override:
•Ice on the window causing a restriction.
•Window unexpectedly reverses.
Position recovery mode
If the motor loses position and stops mid travel, the motor will respond to
switch inputs by moving 0.6 in. (15 mm) each switch command in the up
direction only. Down will be a one touch down operation. If the window is
stalled in the down position and there are no other system faults, the
motor shall relearn its position and resume full functionality. If there is a
feedback signal loss, the window will remain in its 0.6 in. (15 mm) travel
mode with each switch command and will not recover full functionality.
This will allow you to “inch” the window up to the fully closed position. If
the window does not operate correctly, see your dealer for service.
INTERIOR MIRROR
The interior rear view mirror has two pivot points on the support arm
which lets you adjust the mirror UP or DOWN and from SIDE to SIDE.
Do not adjust the mirror while the vehicle is in motion.
Automatic dimming interior rear view mirror (if equipped)
Your vehicle may be equipped with an interior rear view mirror which
has an auto-dimming function. The electronic day/night mirror will
change from the normal (high reflective) state to the non-glare
(darkened) state when bright lights (glare) reach the mirror. When the
mirror detects bright light from behind the vehicle, it will automatically
adjust (darken) to minimize glare.

SPEED CONTROL
With speed control set, you can maintain a set speed without keeping
your foot on the accelerator pedal.
Do not use the speed control in heavy traffic or on roads that
are winding, slippery or unpaved.
Setting speed control
The controls for using your speed
control are located on the steering
wheel for your convenience.
1. Press the ON control and release
it.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed.
3. Press the SET + control and
release it.
4. Take your foot off the accelerator
pedal.
5. The indicator light
on the
instrument cluster will turn on.
Note:
•Vehicle speed may vary momentarily when driving up and down a
steep hill.
•If the vehicle speed increases above the set speed on a downhill, you
may want to apply the brakes to reduce the speed.
•If the vehicle speed decreases more than 10 mph (16 km/h) below
your set speed on an uphill, your speed control will disengage.

item or wait for more than 4 seconds to return to the INFO MENU.
Language
Note:When entering the SETUP MENU and a non-English language has
been selected, “PRESS RESET FOR ENGLISH” will be displayed to
change back to English.

new language.

This feature keeps your headlights on for up to three minutes after the
ignition is switched off.
1. To change the time delay of the
autolamp feature, select this
function from the SETUP MENU.
2. Press and hold the
SELECT/RESET control switch to
select the new Autolamp delay time
(in seconds) values of 0, 10, 20, 30, 60, 90, 120 or 180 and wraps back to
0. Selecting 0 will result in no delay feature.

Usually, when something affects the compass readings, the compass will
correct itself after a few days of operating your vehicle in normal
conditions. If the compass still appears to be inaccurate, a manual
calibration may be necessary. Refer toCompass zone adjustment.
Most geographic areas (zones) have a magnetic north compass point that
varies slightly from the northerly direction on maps. This variation is up
to four degrees between adjacent zones and will become noticeable as
the vehicle crosses multiple zones. A correct zone setting will eliminate
this error. Refer toCompass calibration adjustment.
Compass zone adjustment (if equipped)
1. Determine which magnetic zone
you are in for your geographic
location by referring to the zone
map.
2. Turn ignition to the ON position.
3. Locate the reset button on top of
the compass sensor mounted behind
the mirror.
4. Press and hold the reset button
on the compass module for
approximately 4 seconds until
COMPASS ZONE XX appears in the
message center display.
5. Continue to press the reset button until the correct zone appears in
the message center display.

CLEAR OBJECTS BY PASS SEAT.Displayed when objects are by the
passenger seat. After the objects are moved away from the seat, if the
warning stays on or continues to come on contact your authorized dealer.
CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM.Displayed when the electrical system is
not maintaining proper voltage when the engine is running. If you are
operating electrical accessories when the engine is idling at a low speed,
turn off as many of the electrical loads as soon as possible. If the
warning stays on or comes on when the engine is operating at normal
speeds, have the electrical system checked as soon as possible.
FUEL LEVEL LOW.Displayed as an early reminder of a low fuel condition.
PARK BRAKE ENGAGED.Displayed when the manual park brake is
set, the engine is running and the vehicle is driven more than 3 mph
(5 km/h). If the warning stays on after the park brake is released,
contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM.Displayed when the braking system is not
operating properly. If the warning stays on or continues to come on,
contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
CHECK PARK AID (if equipped).Displayed when the transmission is
in R (Reverse) and the Reverse Sensing System (Park Aid) is disabled.
Refer toReverse Sensing System (Park Aid)in this section to enable.
LOW TIRE PRESSURE.Displayed when one or more tires on your
vehicle have low tire pressure. Refer toInflating Your Tiresin the
Tires, Wheels and Loadingchapter.
TIRE MONITOR FAULT.Displayed when the Tire Pressure Monitoring
System is malfunctioning. If the warning stays on or continues to come
on, have the system inspected by your authorized dealer.
TIRE SENSOR FAULT.Displayed when a tire pressure sensor is
malfunctioning, or your spare tire is in use. For more information on how
the system operates under these conditions, refer toUnderstanding
Your Tire Pressure Monitoring Systemin theTires, Wheels and
Loadingchapter. If the warning stays on or continues to come on, have
the system inspected by your authorized dealer.
BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW.Indicates the brake fluid level is low and
the brake system should be inspected immediately. Refer toBrake fluid
reservoirin theMaintenance and Specificationschapter.
CHECK HEADLAMP.Displayed when the headlamps are activated and
at least one bulb is burned out. Check the lamps as soon as possible and
have the burned out lamp replaced. Refer toReplacing headlamp bulbs
in theLightschapter.

CHECK HIGHBEAM LAMP.Displayed when the highbeam lamps are
activated and at least one bulb is burned out. Check the lamps as soon
as possible and have the burned out lamp replaced. Refer toReplacing
headlamp bulbsin theLightschapter.
CHECK TURN LAMP.Displayed when the turn lamps are activated and
at least one bulb is burned out. Check the lamps as soon as possible and
have the burned out lamp replaced. Refer toReplacing headlamp bulbs
in theLightschapter.
WASHER FLUID LEVEL LOW.Indicates the washer fluid reservoir is
less than one quarter full. Check the washer fluid level. Refer to
Windshield washer fluidin theMaintenance and Specifications
chapter.
OIL CHANGE REQUIRED.Displayed when the engine oil life
remaining is 0%.
An oil change is required whenever indicated by the message center and
according to the recommended maintenance schedule. USE ONLY
RECOMMENDED ENGINE OILS.
ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON.Displayed when the engine oil life
reaches 5% or less of the Oil Life Start Value.
FOR 4X4 LOW STOP VEHICLE (if equipped).Displayed when 4X4
LOW is selected while the vehicle is moving. For more information, refer
toControl trac four-wheel drive (4x4) operationin theDriving
chapter.
FOR 4X4 LOW SHIFT TO N (if equipped).Displayed when 4X4 LOW
is selected and the vehicle is stopped. For more information, refer to

TO EXIT 4X4 LOW STOP VEHICLE (if equipped).Displayed when
