REFUELLING
Petrol engines: only refuel with unleaded petrol with octane rating (RON) not less than 95 conforming to the
European specification EN 228.
Diesel engines: only refuel with diesel fuel conforming to the European specification EN590. The use of other prod-
ucts or mixtures may damage the engine beyond repair and consequently cause lapse of warranty in relation to the
damage caused.
ENGINE STARTING
Petrol engines: make sure that the handbrake is engaged; set the gearshift lever to neutral; fully depress the clutch
without pressing the accelerator, then turn the ignition key to AVV and release it as soon as the engine has started.
Diesel engines: turn the ignition key to MAR and wait until the warning lights
Y(or symbol on the display) go
off.mThen, turn the ignition key to AVV and release it as soon as the engine has started.
PARKING ON FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
The catalytic converter develops high temperature during operation. Do not park on grass, dry leaves, pine needles
or other flammable material: fire risk.
RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
The vehicle is fitted with a system that allows continuous diagnosis of the components correlated with emissions to
ensure better respect for the environment.

Press button B-Fig. 6 only af-

from your body, especially your eyes,
and from objects which could get
damaged (e.g. your clothes). Do not
leave the key unattended, because
someone, a child especially, may ac-
cidentally press the button while han-
dling the key.
WARNING
To extract the metal insert, press button B.
To fit it back in the handle proceed as fol-
lows:

harmful to the environment.
They should be disposed of as
specified by law in the special
containers provided, or take them to
the Fiat Dealership, which will deal

The system acknowledges up to 8 remote
controls. Should a new remote control be
necessary, contact a Fiat Dealership and
be ready to present the CODE card, a
personal identity document and the vehi-

Push the stalk to (stable) position:
❒up (position 1): right-hand indicator
ON;
❒down (position 2): left-hand indicator
ON.
Warning light
Îor ¥will blink on the in-
strument panel.
Direction indicators are switched off au-
tomatically when the steering wheel of the
vehicle is straightened.
If you want the indicator to flash briefly to
show that you are about to change lane,
which requires minimum steering wheel
rotation, move the stalk up or down with-
out clicking into position (unstable posi-
tion). When released, the stalk will return
to its home position.Lane change function
If you want to signal that you are changing
lane, bring the left stalk in unstable posi-
tion for shorter than half a second.
The direction indicator on the selected
side flashes three times and then switch-
es off automatically.“FOLLOW ME HOME”
DEVICE
This device allows the illumination of the
space in front of the vehicle for a preset
time.
Activation
With the ignition key on STOPor re-
moved, pull the stalk towards the steering
wheel within 2 minutes from when the en-
gine is turned off.
At each single movement of the stalk, the
lights stay on for further 30 seconds up to
a maximum of 210 seconds; then the lights
are switched off automatically.
Warning light
3on the instrument pan-
el lights up, and the corresponding mes-
sage appears on the display (see “Warn-
ing lights and messages”), whenever the
stalk is moved. The warning light goes out
when the stalk is operated and stays on
until the device is automatically deactivat-
ed. The time during which the lights stay
on can only be increased by operating the
stalk.
Deactivation
Keep the stalk pulled towards the steer-
ing wheel for more than 2 seconds.

FROM INSIDE
In case of emergency the boot can be
opened from inside the vehicle as de-
scribed below.
❒Open the side sliding door and lower
the backrest of the rear seat all the way
down so as to gain access to the load-
ing compartment (Combi versions).
or
❒Open the side sliding door (Cargo ver-
sions).
❒Use handle A-fig. 79positioned on the
inside of the right-hand swing-door.
❒Open the left-hand swing-door using
the supplied handle (see the instruc-
tions provided in paragraph “Doors” of
this section).

Never exceed the maximum
allowed load in the boot (see
section “Technical Specifications”).
Make sure that the objects are well
arranged in the boot so that they will
not be projected forwards following
sudden braking.
WARNING
If you travel in areas with
few filling stations and you
want to transport fuel in a spare tank,
respect applicable laws and exclu-
sively use a type-approved suitably
secured tank. However, the risks in
case of collision increase.

EXPANDING THE BOOT
Proceed as follows:
❒open the rear doors and remove the
rear window shelf (see the instructions
provided in the previous paragraph);
❒lower the rear seat head restraints all
the way down;
❒move the seat belt sideways and check
that it is stretched and presents no
twisting;
❒lift the lever A-fig. 83for seat retention
and tip it forward so that the loading
compartment is uniform. Lever lifting is
emphasised by a “red band” B;❒the loading compartment can be further
expanded by pulling the strap A-fig. 84
positioned at the back of the rear seat.
Finally, tip the seat and backrest for-
ward fig. 85.Removing the rear seat
When bulky cargos need to be carried, the
loading compartment can be further ex-
panded by removing the rear seat.
First, tip the rear seat as described above.
Then, pull the two brackets A-fig. 86un-
der the seat, one on each side.
Repositioning the rear seat
Proceed as follows:
❒check that the seat belt is correctly fit-
ted in the corresponding bracket;
❒bring the seat cushion back in horizon-
tal position and make sure that it is
properly secured;
❒tip the backrest backwards and make
sure that it is properly secured.
