2008 DODGE CALIBER SRT ABS

The ABS light monitors the Anti-Lock Brake
System. The light will come on when the
ignition switch is turned to the ON position
and may stay on for as long as four seconds.
If the ABS light remains on or comes on while driving, it
indicates that the Anti-Lock portion of the brake system
is not functioning and that service is required. However,
the conventional brake system will continue to operate
normally if the BRAKE warning light is not on.
If the ABS light is on, the brake system should be serviced
as soon as possible to restore the benefits of Anti-Lock
brakes. If the ABS light does not come on when the
Ignition switch is turned to the ON position, have the
bulb repaired as soon as possible.
If both the Brake Warning Light and the ABS Light
remain on, the Anti-Lock brakes (ABS) and Electronic
Brake Force Distribution (EBD) systems are not function-
ing. Immediate repair to the ABS system is required.When the vehicle is driven over 7 mph (11 km/h), you
may also hear a slight clicking sound as well as some
related motor noises. These noises are the system per-
forming its self check cycle to ensure that the ABS system
is working properly. This self check occurs each time the
vehicle is started and accelerated past 7 mph (11 km/h).
ABS is activated during braking under certain road or
stopping conditions. ABS-inducing conditions can in-
clude ice, snow, gravel, bumps, railroad tracks, loose
debris, or panic stops.
You also may experience the following when the brake
system goes into Anti-Lock:
²the ABS motor running (it may continue to run for a
short time after the stop)
²the clicking sound of solenoid valves
²brake pedal pulsations

²a slight drop or fall away of the brake pedal at the end
of the stop
These are all normal characteristics of ABS.
WARNING!
The Anti-Lock Brake System contains sophisticated
electronic equipment that may be susceptible to
interference caused by improperly installed or high
output radio transmitting equipment. This interfer-
ence can cause possible loss of anti-lock braking
capability. Installation of such equipment should be
performed by qualified professionals.
All vehicle wheels and tires must be the same size and
type and tires must be properly inflated to produce
accurate signals for the computer.
POWER STEERING
The standard power steering system will give you good
vehicle response and increased ease of maneuverability
in tight spaces. The system will provide mechanical
steering capability if power assist is lost.
If for some reason the power assist is interrupted, it will
still be possible to steer your vehicle. Under these condi-
tions, you will observe a substantial increase in steering
effort, especially at very low vehicle speeds and during
parking maneuvers.
NOTE:Increased noise levels at the end of the steering
wheel travel are considered normal and do not indicate
that there is a problem with the power steering system.
Upon initial start-up in cold weather, the power steering
pump may make noise for a short amount of time. This is
due to the cold, thick fluid in the steering system. This
noise should be considered normal, and it does not in any
way damage the steering system.

²European Metric tire sizing is based on European
design standards. Tires designed to this standard have
the tire size molded into the sidewall beginning with
the section width. The letter9P9is absent from this tire
size designation. Example: 215/65R15 96H
²LT (Light Truck)-Metric tire sizing is based on U.S.
design standards. The size designation for LT-Metric
tires is the same as for P-Metric tires except for the
letters ªLTº that are molded into the sidewall preced-
ing the size designation. Example: LT235/85R16.
²Temporary Spare tires are high pressure compact
spares designed for temporary emergency use only.
Tires designed to this standard have the letter ªTº
molded into the sidewall preceding the size designa-
tion. Example: T145/80D18 103M.
²High Flotation tire sizing is based on U.S. design
standards and begins with the tire diameter molded
into the sidewall. Example: 31x10.5 R15 LT.

der specified operating conditions. (i.e. tire pressure, vehicle loading, road conditions and
posted speed limits).
Load Identification:
(....blank....(= Absence of any text on sidewall of the tire indicates a Standard Load (SL) Tire
Extra Load (XL)= Extra Load (or Reinforced) Tire
Light Load= Light Load Tire
C,D,E= Load range associated with the maximum load a tire can carry at a specified pressure
Maximum LoadÐ Maximum Load indicates the maximum load this tire is designed to carry.
Maximum PressureÐ Maximum Pressure indicates the maximum permissible cold tire inflation pressure for this
tire.

WARNING!
²Do not attempt to seal a tire on the side of the vehicle close to traffic.
Pull far enough off the road to avoid the danger of being hit when
using the TIREFIT kit.
²Do not use TIREFIT or drive the vehicle under the following
circumstances:
þ If the cut or puncture in the tire tread is approximately 0.24 in. (6 mm)
or larger.
þ If the tire has any sidewall damage.
þ If the tire has any damage from driving with extremely low tire
pressure.
þ If the tire has any damage from driving on a flat tire.
þ If the wheel has any damage.
þ If you are unsure of the condition of the tire or the wheel.
²Keep TIREFIT away from open flame or heat source.
²TIREFIT is not a permanent flat tire repair. Have the tire inspected
and repaired or replaced after using TIREFIT. Do not exceed 55 mph
(90 km/h) until having the tire repaired or replaced.
²A loose TIREFIT kit thrown forward in a collision or hard stop could
endanger the occupants of the vehicle. Always stow the TIREFIT kit
in the place provided.
Failure to follow these warnings can result in injuries that are serious or
fatal to you, your passengers, and others around you.
WARNING!
²Take care not to allow the contents of TIREFIT to
come in contact with hair, eyes, or clothing. TIRE-
FIT is harmful if inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed
through the skin: It causes skin, eye, and respira-
tory irritation. Flush immediately with plenty of
water if there is any contact with eyes or skin.
Change clothing as soon as possible, if there is any
contact with clothing.
²TIREFIT Sealant solution contains latex. In case of
allergic reaction or rash, consult a physician imme-
diately. Keep TIREFIT out of reach of children. If
swallowed, rinse mouth immediately with plenty
of water and drink plenty of water. Do not induce
vomiting! Consult a physician immediately.

Impaired (TDD/TTY)

The manufacturer will not stand behind any service
contract that is not the manufacturer's Service Contract. It
is not responsible for any service contract other than the
manufacturer's Service Contract. If you purchased a

Contract, and you require service after your manufactur-
er's New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires, please refer
to your contract documents, and contact the person listed
in those documents.
