S: IGNITION
To free the steering lock, gently
a c t i o n t h e s t e e r i n g w h e e l w h i l e
t u r n i n g t h e k e y , w i t h o u t u s i n g
undue force.
When removing the key, turn the
s t e e r i n g w h e e l u n t i l t h e s t e e r i n g
locks. The key can only be re-
moved from position S.
M: DRIVE POSITION
The steering is freed (by turning
the key to position M, action the
steering gently if necessary). S T E E R I N G L O C K - I G N I T I O N -
S T A R T E R
NEVER REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY BEFORE THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP.
ALWAYS DRIVE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING SO THAT YOU
RETAIN THE BRAKING ASSISTANCE AND POWER STEERING
(risk of engaging the steering lock and losing safety fea tures).
When parking, remove the ignition key and carefully turn the st eering
w h e e l u n t i l t h e s t e e r i n g l o c k e n g a g e s .
Depending on the version of your
v e h i c l e , t h e f o l l o w i n g w a r n i n g
lamps are tested:
I f o n e o f t h e s e w a r n i n g l a m p s
does not light up, this indicates a
malfunction.
D: STARTING
Release the key immediately the
engine has started. Never action it
w h i l e t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g .

ECONOMY MODE
In order not to discharge the bat-
t e r y w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s s t o p p e d ,
your vehicle goes automatically
into economy mode after a max-
imum of 30 minutes
. Economy
m o d e i s c o n i r m e d b y a m e s s a g e
on the screen.
The electrical components relat-
ing to comfort and also the head-
lamps (not sidelamps or hazard
w a r n i n g l a m p s ) a r e s w i t c h e d o f f
automatically.
To reactivate them, it is necessary
to start the engine.

Lighting rheostat
When the vehicle lamps are on,
press on the button to alter the
b r i g h t n e s s f o r t h e w a r n i n g l a m p s
display, the instrument panel, the
air conditioning panel and the
multifunction screen. When the
lighting reaches the minimum (or
maximum) adjustment, release
the button then press again to
increase it (or decrease it).
As soon as the lighting reaches
the desired intensity, release the
button.
Night driving control
- A i r s t p r e s s o n t h e
DARK button puts the display to sleep. Only the time
and the temperature remain displayed.
- A s e c o n d p r e s s s w i t c h e s o f f t h e d i s p l a y a n d t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l w i t h t h e
exception of the speedometer, its central display and the in formation on
automatic gearbox and cruise control / speed limiter if these ha ve been
activated.
Note: Timed lighting of functions if you:
- Press any of the display controls.
- Select Radio-CD.
- Operate any of the air conditioning controls.
All the displays light up if there is an alert.

activation, choose the duration:

the duration and press on C.
- Validate on “OK” on the display.
To activate/deactivate the au-
tomatic lighting of headlamps,
proceed in a similar manner.

conditions.

Emergency lighting of hazard
warning lamps
Sudden vehicle deceleration
automatically causes the hazard
w a r n i n g l a m p s t o a c t i v a t e .

you reaccelerate or manually if
y o u p r e s s t h e h a z a r d w a r n i n g
lamps control on the dashboard.

Automatic lighting of headlamps
Sidelamps and dipped beams come on automatically in conditions of poor
a m b i e n t l i g h t o r w h e n t h e w i p e r s a r e i n c o n t i n u o u s o p e r a t i o n .
T h e y g o o u t a s s o o n a s l i g h t i s s u f i c i e n t a g a i n o r a f t e r t h e w i p e r s h a v e
stopped.
An activation/deactivation of this function is possible in th e menu “Person-
a l i s a t i o n - C o n i g u r a t i o n ” o f t h e “ M a i n M e n u ” .

In conditions of poor visibility, if the ambient brightnes s does not
trigger the automatic lighting, it is up to you to switch on your
dipped beams manually, as well as your foglamps.
