In all other cases, the vehicle must be transported by a transporter.

The ignition key should be in position "M" so as to retain steering.

Vehicles with manual transmission
F o r v e h i c l e s w i t h m a n u a l t r a n s m i s s i o n , t h e g e a r l e v e r m u s t b e i n n e u t r a l . F a i l u r e t o o b s e r v e t h i s r e q u i r e m e n t c a n l e a d t o t h e f a i l u r e o f c e r t a i n b r a k i n g c o m p o - n e n t s a n d a l a c k o f b r a k i n g a s s i s t a n c e o n r e s t a r t i n g t h e e n g i n e .
If the engine is not running, the steering and braking systems will not be power-assisted.
If towing another vehicle, the latter should be free-wheeling (that is, gearbox in neutral).
