Starting the engine with an assisting battery
If the battery is discharged, it is possible to use either a separate emergency battery or a battery on another vehicle.A. Dischargedbattery (Under the bonnet)B. Assisting battery

If you use the battery on another vehicle, stop the engine on the latter. The two vehicles must not come into direct contact with each other.
Connect the cables according to the order indicated in the diagram. orderCheck that the leads are well secured (risk of sparks).
Start the engine of the assisting vehicle. Let the engine run for around 1 minute at a slightly accelerated idle.
Operate the starter on the vehicle being assisted.Note: For any operation necessitating a disconnection of the bat-tery, you must wait 3 minutes after switching the ignition off, taking no action which will prevent the vehicle's electrical system from g oing to sleep (such as operating the doors and tailgate, pressing the buttons on the remote control, etc.).
N e v e r a p p r o a c h w i t h a fl a m e o r c r e a t e s p a r k s i n t h e v i c i n i t y of the battery (explosive gas).
The battery contains dilute sulphuric acid which is highly corrosive.
When handling batteries, always protect your face a nd especially your eyes.
In the event of any contact with the skin, rinse immediatel y with copious amounts of fresh water.
Advice
Do not touch the leads during the operation.
Do not lean over the batteries.
Disconnect the cables in reverse order, making sure they do not touch together.

Access to the spare wheel
To access the spare wheel
Lift the boot carpet.
Remove the jack- holder to access the wheel.
Tools
The tools are to be found in a protective holder inside the spare wheel.Note: I n c a b r i o l e t o r s p i d e r c o n fi g u r a t i o n , i t i s n e c e s s a r y t o m o v e t h e r o o f cassette in order to access the spare wheel.
To reposition the spare wheel
Return the wheel to the boot, place the toolbox inside the wheel, then secure using the strap.
Tyre pressures
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d o n t h e l a b e l o n t h e f r o n t d o o r p i l l a r . S e e “ V e h i c l e i d e n t i fi c a -tion” and “User Precautions”.
Advice
T h e w h e e l b o l t s a r e s p e c i fi c t o t h e t y p e o f w h e e l .
If the type of wheel is changed, check with your CITROËN dea ler that the wheel bolts are compatible with the new wheels.
T h e j a c k a n d a l l t h e t o o l s a r e d e s i g n e d s p e c i fi c a l l y f o r u s e o n your particular vehicle.
Do not use them for any other applications.
With a spare wheel, drive cautiously.

Dimension of the spare wheel

Never get underneath the vehicle if it is supported only by the jack.
When changing a wheel, it is essential to park the vehicle safely on level and stable ground.
Wheel for temporary use
I f y o u r v e h i c l e h a s l i g h t a l l o y w h e e l r i m s b u t a s t e e l s p a r e w h e e l , i f y o u fi t the latter it is normal to notice that the wheel bolts do not appear to contact on the rim.
The spare wheel is secured by the conical tapering of the whe el bolt’s shaft (See illustration).
w h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e l i g h t a l l o y w h e e l , m a k e s u r e t h a t t h e t a p e r i n g c o n t a c t f a c e s of the wheel bolts are clean and in good condition.
