R E M O T E C O N T R O L
Note: The simultaneous use of other high frequency equipment (mobile telephones, domestic alarms, etc.) may momentarily hinder the operation of the remote control.
If there is a permanent fault, the remote control has to be reinitial-ised. See "Changing remote con-trol batteries".
Central unlocking
A short press on control B unlocks your vehicle.
T h i s o p e r a t i o n i s c o n fi r m e d b y t h e r a p i d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s and the lighting of the interior lamp (if the function is activated). It can also deploy the exterior rear view mirrors.
Central locking – Deadlocking
A short press on button A locks your vehicle.
T h i s i s c o n fi r m e d b y t h e l i g h t i n g f o r a r o u n d 2 s e c o n d s o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -tors and by the interior lamp going out. It may cause the exte rior rear view mirrors to fold back.
If any of the doors, or the boot, is open or not properly closed, the central locking does not operate.
For vehicles equipped with deadlocking, two successive presses on con-trol A will operate deadlocking. It is then impossible to open the doors, either from the inside or from the outside.
It is dangerous to operate the deadlocking when a p erson is in the vehicle as unlocking is impossible from the inside (without the remote control).

Electronic immobiliser key
The key operates all the vehicle’s locks as well as the ignition.Note: For safety reasons, a buzzer will sound if you have switched off the ignition and opened the driv-er’s door without having removed the ignition key.
The key can be used to deactivate the front passenger’s airbag. See "Airbags".
Central locking using the key
A brief action with the key locks the vehicle.
Deadlocking: Central locking using the key
A second action straightaway with the key deadlocks the vehicle. It is then impossible to open the doors from either inside or outside the vehicle.Note:With the vehicle stationary and the engine switched off, locking is sig- n a l l e d b y t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e i n t e r i o r l o c k i n g c o n t r o l w a r n i n g l a m p .If any of the doors, or the boot, is open or not properly clo sed, the central locking does not operate.
Electronic immobiliser
The ELECTRONIC IMMOBILISER device locks the engine supply system.
The system activates automatically as the key is removed from the igni tion.
All the vehicle’s keys contain an electronic immobiliser device.
After you switch on the ignition, a dialogue starts between the key and the electronic immobiliser device.
If the key is not recognised, you cannot start the vehicle .
If this occurs, leave your vehicle immobilised and contact a CITRO ËN dealer.

A N T I - I N T R U S I O N A L A R M
Your vehicle may be equipped with an ANTI-INTRUSION ALARM. This provides:Exterior perimeter protection by means of detectors on the vehi-cle access points (doors, boot, bonnet) as well as on the elec-trical supply.Interior volumetric protection by means of ultrasonic sensors (detecting movement inside the passenger compartment). This can be deactivated using the control 1.

Operating the alarm
First make sure all the doors are closed.
The alarm is armed by pressing button A on the remote control.
W i t h t h e a l a r m a r m e d , t h e p r o t e c t i o n s a r e a c t i v e a f t e r 5 s e c o n d s ( p e r i m e t e r ) a n d 4 5 s e c o n d s ( v o l u m e t r i c ) .
When the alarm is armed (on standby), any intrusion w i l l t r i g g e r t h e s i r e n f o r 3 0 s e c o n d s , a c c o m p a n i e d b y the direction indicators lighting up.
The alarm then goes back on standby, but the trigger-ing remains memorised and is signalled by the rapid fl a s h i n g o f t h e w a r n i n g l a m p o n c o n t r o l 1 after you have deactivated the alarm with a press on the unlocking button B . T h e fl a s h i n g s t o p s w h e n y o u s w i t c h o n t h e ignition.
The siren is also triggered if there is a cutting of the electrical supply. To stop it, restore the electrical supply then press on the unlocking button B.Note:If you want to lock your vehicle without arming the alarm, just lock with the key only.If you lock your vehicle and a door, or the boot, is still open, the central locking does not operate but the alarm will arm itself after approx. 45 seconds.Note: The siren is automatically deactivated (for exam-ple for disconnecting the battery) as soon as the vehicle is unlocked using the remote control.

Lower glovebox
To open, pull the handle and lower the lid.
It comprises a storage area for vehicle documents.
Front seat drawers
To open, lift then pull towards the front.
Boot storage
Straps anchored to the boot aper-ture are provided for the securing of a wide variety of objects (e.g. doctor’s bag, warning triangle, oil container etc).
Further items can be stowed in the s t o r a g e a r e a fi t t e d i n t o t h e r i g h t hand side of the load area.
WARNING
As a safety measure, the glovebox must remain shut when the vehicle is in motion.

The Moduboard shelf, located at the rear of the benchseat backrests, ena-bles the bootspace to be variously c o n fi g u r e d .

Removing the parcel shelfHold it with one hand.

Release it from its mountings.
Handle the shelf without forcing the joints that link the various sections.Note: It is possible to fold the central retaining tab 2 between the seat back-rests.

With a few simple actions in the rear of the vehicle it is possible to c r e a t e a fl a t l o a d a r e a s t r e t c h i n g from the boot aperture to the front seat backrests, rear benchseat backrests folded.
The boot can be divided into com-partments depending on require-ments:B- To protect fragile objects.C- To accommodate a long and bulky load.D- To take a long and bulky load as well as fragile objects.E- To take a long object and s t i l l r e t a i n 2 r e a r s e a t s a n d two- thirds of the boot.F- To separate a fragile object from a long object.
