Draining water from the fuel fi l t e r
Purge regularly (at each oil change).
To drain the water, slacken the bleed screw or the water-in-diesel-fuel sensor located at the base of t h e fi l t e r .
Operate until the water has com-pletely drained away.
Then retighten the bleed screw or the water in diesel fuel sensor.

Priming the fuel system
In the event of running out of fuel: A f t e r fi l l i n g ( 5 l i t r e s m i n i m u m ) , operate the manual priming pump until some resistance is felt.
Operate the starter motor while depressing the accelerator pedal slightly until the engine starts.
I f t h e e n g i n e f a i l s t o s t a r t a t t h e fi r s t attempt, wait 15 seconds before trying again.
If the engine fails to start after sev-eral attempts, repeat the procedure from the beginning.
When the engine is idling, acceler-ate slightly to complete the bleed-ing of the circuit.

Turn the key a quarter turn to lock a n d u n l o c k t h e fi l l e r c a p .
When refuelling, place the cap in the support provided on the inside o f t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
For a petrol engine with a cata-lytic converter, unleaded fuel is compulsory.
T h e fi l l e r n e c k i s n a r r o w e r t o ensure that only unleaded petrol can be put in.
W h e n y o u a r e s e e k i n g t o fi l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t p e r s i s t a f t e r t h e t h i r d cut-off; that could cause your vehicle to malfunction.

If you should put in fuel that is not suitable for your vehicle's engine type, it is imperative to have the tank drained be fore you start the engine again.
