COURTESY LIGHTS Front courtesy light Map reading lights
There are two map reading lights, one
on each side of the courtesy light.
Press the corresponding transparent
block A .
Position 1
The courtesy light comes on when a
door or the tailgate is opened.
When the door or the tailgate is closed
again, the lighting gradually dims for a
few seconds before switching off.
However, the courtesy light is switched
off automatically in the following cases:
- When the doors and the tailgate
are closed and the ignition switch is
placed in the “ON” position.
- When the doors and the tailgate are closed and you lock the vehicle from
inside or using the remote control.
System for selection and control of the
various passenger compartment lights.
Position 2
The courtesy light is off, regardless of
whether the doors or tailgate are open
or closed. The durations of lighting of the front
c o u r t e s y l i g h t s c a n b e c o n fi g u r e d
via the colour display “Equipment”
menu.

Rear courtesy light
Position 1 “ON”
The courtesy light is permanently on. - When the doors and the tailgate are
closed and you lock the vehicle from
inside or using the remote control.
Automatic switching off
of the courtesy lights
To prevent discharging of the battery,
the courtesy lights and map reading
lights switch off automatically after
30 minutes.
The courtesy lights are switched on
again if the ignition switch is placed in
the “ON” or “ACC” position, if you open
then close a door or the tailgate or if
you use the remote control.
Boot courtesy light
Position 1 “ON”
The courtesy light is on, regardless of
whether the tailgate is open or closed.

Access to the fuses
O p e n t h e g l o v e b o x ,
Push the two opening guides C inwards to
p a s s t h e fi r s t n o t c h ,
Remove the retaining tab D pulling it outwards,
Support the cover and tilt it downwards,
Change the fuse (refer to the corresponding
paragraph).

Charging the battery using a
battery charger
Disconnect the battery from the
vehicle.
Remove the battery and place it in a
ventilated area.
Remove the top-up caps and top
up the level with distilled water if
necessary.
Connect the battery to the charger
observing the instructions for use
provided by the manufacturer and
start charging.
Disconnect the battery from the
charger and let it cool.
If necessary, top up the level with
distilled water.
Clean the top of the battery
carefully.
Put the top-up caps back in place.
Check that the terminals and
connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (whitish or
greenish deposit), remove them
and clean them.
Reconnect the battery starting with
the positive terminal (+). Do not disconnect the terminals
while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries
without disconnecting the
t e r m i n a l s fi r s t . Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to permit initialisation of
the electronic systems. However, if slight
d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e n c o u n t e r e d f o l l o w i n g t h i s
operation, contact a CITROËN dealer.
Referring to the corresponding section,
you must yourself reinitialise:
- the one-touch electric windows,
- the sunroof,
- the satellite navigation system.
Avoid prolonged contact of the
electrolyte with the skin.
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l
to health and very corrosive. It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left
unused for more than one month.
The batteries contain harmful
substances such as sulphuric acid
and lead. They must be disposed of
in accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries
and vehicle batteries to a special
collection point.
When charging the battery, it is
normal to observe an increase in
temperature and bubbling of the
electrolyte.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ig-
nition before disconnecting the battery.
Close the windows, the sunroof, the
doors and the tailgate before discon-
necting the battery.
