Upper glove box with
air conditioning
Storage box
Press the front part of the lid to open.
To close, fold down the lid until it locks. Press button
A on the lid to open it.
To close it, push the lid up.
I t i s fi t t e d w i t h a v e n t i l a t i o n n o z z l e w h i c h
can be closed by means of a dial, dis-
tributing conditioned air at the same
temperature as the vents in the passen-
ger compartment.
In cold weather, it is advisable to close
this vent to conserve the ambient air in-
side the passenger compartment.
Spectacles storage
Press the cover to open it.
To close it, push the cover until it locks.

In foggy weather or in snow,
the brightness sensor can de-
t e c t s u f fi c i e n t l i g h t . T h e l i g h t s
will not come on automatically.
Do not cover the brightness sensor,
the associated functions will no long-
er be controlled.
Automatic lighting
D a y t i m e l i g h t s *

on the instrument panel.
The instruments and controls (instru-
ment panel, multifunction display, air
conditioning control panel, etc.) are lit. Automatic switching off
When the lights stalk is at “dipped head-
lamps or main beam headlamps”, if the
ignition switch is at “LOCK” or “ACC” or
if the key has been removed from the
ignition switch, the lights switch off au-
tomatically
when the driver’s door is
opened .
On vehicles which are equipped with
daytime lights, the dipped headlamps
come on when the vehicle is started.
The side lights and the dipped head-
lamps come on automatically, without
any action on the part of the driver, if a
l o w l e v e l o f e x t e r i o r l i g h t i s d e t e c t e d o r
if the wipers are switched on.
W h e n t h e l i g h t r e t u r n s t o a s u f fi c i e n t
level or the wipers are switched off, the
lights are switched off automatically.
The sensor is located at the base of the
windscreen.
Contact a CITROËN dealer to adjust
the sensitivity of the sensor.
The sensitivity of the automatic light-

display “Equipment” menu.

AIR BAGS The air bags do not operate
when the ignition is
switched off.
This equipment will only operate once.
If a second impact occurs (during the
same or a subsequent accident), the
air bag will not operate. Front air bags
System which protects the head and
chest of the driver and front passenger
in the event of a front impact.
The driver’s air bag is incorporated in
the centre of the steering wheel; the
front passenger’s air bag is incorporat-
e d i n t h e f a s c i a a b o v e t h e g l o v e b o x .
Activation
The air bags are triggered simultaneously,
unless the passenger’s front air bag
is disarmed, in the event of a serious
front impact applied to all or part of the
front impact zone

centreline of the vehicle on a horizontal
plane and directed from the front to the
rear of the vehicle.
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n t h e f r o n t
occupant of the vehicle and the fascia to
cushion his forward movement.
Impact detection zones
A. Front impact zone.
B. Side impact zone.
Triggering of the air bag(s) is
accompanied by a slight emission
of harmless smoke and a noise, due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge incorporated in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but
s e n s i t i v e i n d i v i d u a l s m a y e x p e r i e n c e
slight irritation.
The noise of the detonation may
result in a slight loss of hearing for a
short time.
S y s t e m d e s i g n e d t o m a x i m i s e t h e s a f e t y
o f t h e o c c u p a n t s ( w i t h t h e e x c e p t i o n o f
the rear centre passenger) in the event
of violent collisions. It supplements the
action of the force-limiting seat belts.
If a collision occurs, the electronic de-
tectors record and analyse the front
and side impacts sustained in the im-
pact detection zones:
- in the case of a serious impact, the
air bags are triggered instantly and
protect the occupants of the vehicle
( w i t h t h e e x c e p t i o n o f t h e r e a r c e n t r e
passenger); immediately after the
i m p a c t , t h e a i r b a g s d e fl a t e r a p i d l y
so that they do not hinder visibility
o r t h e e x i t o f t h e o c c u p a n t s ,
- in the case of a minor or rear impact or in certain roll-over conditions,
the air bags will not be triggered;
t h e s e a t b e l t a l o n e i s s u f fi c i e n t t o
provide optimum protection in these
situations.

Diesel additive level (Diesel
with particle emission filter)
The minimum level of this additive is in-
dicated by lighting of the service warn-
ing light, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multifunc-
tion display.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a CITROËN dealer with-
out delay.
Used products CHECKS
Battery Check the electrolyte level
regularly. If necessary, top up
the level with distilled water.
Check that the terminals are
clean and correctly tightened,
particularly in summer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery,
refer to the “Practical information” sec-
tion for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery
and following its reconnection.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter Refer to the servicing booklet
for details of the replacement
intervals for these compo-
nents.
Depending on the environ-
ment (e.g. dusty atmosphere) and the
use of the vehicle (e.g. city driving), re-
place them twice as often if necessary
(refer to the “Engines” paragraph).
A c l o g g e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l -
ter may have an adverse effect on the
performance of the air conditioning sys-
tem and generate undesirable odours. Oil filter
R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.

the vehicle at very low speed or at
i d l e , y o u m a y , e x c e p t i o n a l l y , n o t i c e
the emission of water vapour at the
e x h a u s t o n a c c e l e r a t i o n . T h i s d o e s
not have any adverse effect on the
performance of the vehicle or on the
environment.
Avoid any prolonged contact of
u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s w i t h t h e s k i n .
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l
to health or indeed very corrosive.
D o n o t d i s c a r d u s e d o i l o r fl u i d s i n t o
sewers or onto the ground.
Empty used oil into the containers
provided for this purpose in the
CITROËN network. D o n o t d i s c a r d t h e o i l fi l t e r t h r o u g h
public channels, deposit it in the con-
tainers dedicated to this use in the
CITROËN network.
Unless otherwise indicated, check
these components in accordance with
the servicing booklet and in relation to
your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a
CITROËN dealer.

Push the two opening guides C inwards to
