INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
After switching on the ignition, three
f u n c t i o n s a r e s h o w n i n s u c c e s s i o n :
- service indicator,
- engine oil level indicator,
- total distance recorder/total and t r i p d i s t a n c e s .
Note
: the total and trip distances are
displayed for 30 seconds when the
ignition is switched off, on opening
the driver's door, as well as on lock-
i n g a n d u n l o c k i n g t h e v e h i c l e .
Example: 4,800 miles/km remain be-

Operation
As soon as the ignition is switched

approximately 10 seconds, after the

CHECKING THE LEVELS
Dipstick
Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet.
Note: a v o i d u s e d o i l c o m i n g i n t o
prolonged contact with the skin.

Note: the coolant does not need to
be changed.
For vehicles equipped with a parti-
c l e fi l t e r , t h e e n g i n e f a n m a y o p e r a t e
after the ignition has been switched
o f f , e v e n w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s c o l d .
There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = m a x i m u m
N e v e r fi l l p a s t t h i s
mark.
B = m i n i m u m
To maintain the reliability
of engines and emission
c o n t r o l s y s t e m s , t h e u s e
of addi-tives in engine oil
is prohibited. Brake fluid level:

C o o l i n g s y s t e m
U s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
m a n u f a c t u r e r .
When the engine is warm, the tem-
p e r a t u r e o f t h e c o o l a n t i s c o n t r o l l e d
by the engine fan. As this fan can op-
erate with the ignition key removed
a n d b e c a u s e t h e c o o l i n g s y s t e m i s
p r e s s u r i s e d , w a i t f o r a t l e a s t o n e h o u r
after the engine has stopped before
c a r r y i n g o u t a n y w o r k .

Open the reservoir, with the

u n d e r t h e p r o t e c t i v e c o v e r , u n t i l f u e l
appears in the transparent pipe,
- o p e r a t e t h e s t a r t e r u n t i l t h e e n g i n e starts.
FUEL SUPPLY CUT-OFF (PETROL)
I n a s e r i o u s c o l l i s i o n , a m e c h a n i s m p r e v e n t s f u e l f r o m r e a c h i n g t h e e n g i n e .
T o r e - e s t a b l i s h t h e f u e l s u p p l y , p r e s s t h e
switch on the corner of the front right-
h a n d s u s p e n s i o n a s s e m b l y , u n d e r
the bonnet.
Air filter and passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t f i l t e r
H a v e t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e p l a c e d
r e g u l a r l y .
If you drive in dusty condi-
t i o n s , c h a n g e t h e m t w i c e a s o f t e n .
Brake pads
Brake pad wear depends on the style
o f d r i v i n g , i n p a r t i c u l a r f o r v e h i c l e s
w h i c h a r e u s e d i n t o w n , o v e r s h o r t
distances.
It may be necessary to check the
thickness of the pads, even between
services.
