{CAUTION:
Storing the tire sealant and compressor kit or
other equipment in the passenger compartment
of the vehicle could cause injury. In a sudden
stop or collision, loose equipment could strike
someone. Store the tire sealant and compressor
kit in its original location.
18. Return the equipment to the proper storage location
in the trunk of your vehicle.
19. Immediately drive the vehicle 5 miles (8 km) to
distribute the sealant evenly in the tire. Stop at a
safe location and check the tire pressure, refer
to Steps 1 through 8 under “Using the Air
Compressor without Sealant” next in this section.20. If the tire pressure has fallen more then 10 psi
(68 kPa), below the recommended in ation pressure,
stop driving the vehicle. The tire is too severely
damaged and the tire sealant and compressor kit
cannot seal the tire. SeeRoadside Service on
page 7-7for more information.
If the tire pressure has not dropped more than
10 psi (68 kPa) from the recommended in ation
pressure, you can in ate the tire back up to
the recommended in ation pressure.
21. Wipe off any sealant from the wheel, tire, and
vehicle with a rag.
22. Dispose of the sealant canister at a local dealer/
retailer or in accordance with your local state codes
and practices.
After using the sealant canister, replace it with a
new canister from your dealer/retailer.
23. After temporarily sealing a tire with the tire sealant
and compressor kit, take your vehicle to your
dealer/retailer to have the tire inspected and
repaired.

The sealant can temporarily seal a puncture up to 6 mm
in the tread area of the tire ire. The sealant cannot
seal sidewall damage, large punctures, or a tire that
has unseated from the wheel. SeeRoadside Service
on page 7-7.
Using the Tire Sealant and Compressor
Kit to Temporarily Seal and In ate a
Punctured Tire
Follow these directions closely for correct sealant
usage.
1. Do a safety check before proceeding. SeeIf a Tire
Goes Flat on page 5-82.
2. Inspect the damaged tire.
The sealant cannot seal sidewall damage, large
punctures, or a tire that has unseated from
the wheel. SeeRoadside Service on page 7-7.3. Place the tire sealant and compressor kit on the
ground and unwrap the sealant/air hose (G) from
the side of the compressor.
4. Remove the tire valve stem cap from the at tire by
turning it counterclockwise.
5. Attach the sealant/air hose (G) onto the tire valve
stem. Turn it clockwise until it is tight.
Make sure the sealant and compressor kit On/Off
switch (D) is in the O (off) position.
6. Remove the air compressor accessory plug (C)
from the unit.
