When you remove the key f rom the
ignition switch, the steering wheel
automatically moves f ully in and up.If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, or the
f use f or the power tilt and telescopic
steering wheel is removed, the
power tilt and telescopic steering
wheel system needs to be reset
when you reconnect the battery or
install the f use.
Insert the key into the ignition
switch, and remove it. The steering
wheel automatically moves f ully in
and up to let you know the system is
reset.
To change the ‘‘AUTO TILT &
TELESCOPE STEERING WHEEL’’
setting, see page .
The steering wheel then returns to
its original position when you insert
the key back in the ignition switch.
Steering wheel movement is also
controlled by the driving position
memory system (see page ).

Remove the old battery and note
the polarity. Make sure the
polarity of the new battery is the
same ( side f acing up), then
insert it in the keypad.
An improperly disposed of battery
can hurt the environment.
Always conf irm local regulations
for battery disposal.
Snap the two halves of the keypad,
then install the parts in reverse
order.
Place a cloth on the edge of the
keypad, and remove the upper half

Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Call’’ or ‘‘Dial.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘Calling’’ or
‘‘Dialing.’’ Once connected, you
will hear the person you called
through the audio speakers. To
change the volume, use the audio
system volume knob, or the
steering wheel volume controls.
Press and release the Talk button.
Af ter the beep, say the number
you want to call. For example, say
‘‘123 456 7891.’’ The HFL response
is ‘‘123 456 7891. Say call, dial, or
continue to add numbers.’’
You can also make a call directly
f rom the list shown on the
navigation display.
You can make calls using any phone
number, or by using a name in the
HFL phonebook. You can also redial
the last number called. During a call,
theHFLallowsyoutotalkupto30
minutes af ter you remove the key
f rom the ignition switch. Continuing
a call without running the engine
may discharge and weaken the
vehicle’s battery.
With your phone on and the
ignition in the ACCESSORY (I) or
ON (II) position, press and release
the Talk button. After the beep,
say ‘‘Call’’ or ‘‘Dial.’’ The HFL
response is, ‘‘What name or
number would you like to call/
dial?’’
Press and release the Talk button.
Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Next phone.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘Searching
f or the next phone.’’ The HFL
then disconnects the linked phone
and searches for another paired
phone. If no other phones are
f ound, the f irst phone remains
linked.
