ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
(ABS) AND ELECTRONIC BRAKE
FORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBFD)
The ABS, in conjunction with the
electronic brake force distribution,
increases the stability and
manoeuvrability of your vehicle on
braking, in particular on poor or
s l i p p e r y r o a d s u r f a c e s .
HORN
Press one of the spokes of the steering
w h e e l . When changing wheels (tyres and
rims), make sure that these are
a p p r o v e d .
The anti-lock braking system comes
into operation automatically when there
i s a r i s k o f w h e e l l o c k .
When this warning light
comes on, accompanied by
a buzzer and a message,
it indicates that there is a
malfunction of the ABS, which
can cause a loss of control of the
v e h i c l e w h e n b r a k i n g .
When this warning light
comes on, connected to
the STOP warning light,
accompanied by a buzzer
and a message, it indicates
that there is a malfunction of the
electronic brake force distribution,
which can cause a loss of control of
t h e v e h i c l e w h e n b r a k i n g .
Stop immediately.
In both cases, consult a CITROËN
d e a l e r .
Normal operation of the ABS may
make itself felt by slight vibrations of
t h e b r a k e p e d a l .
In emergency braking, press
v e r y fi r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s i n g t h e
pressure.
ASSISTANCE SYSTEM (EBA)
In an emergency, this system enables
the optimum braking pressure to be
reached more quickly, press the pedal
fi r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s i n g i t .
It is triggered by the speed at which the
b r a k e p e d a l i s a c t i v a t e d .
This alters the resistance of the brake
p e d a l u n d e r y o u r f o o t .
To prolong the operation of the
emergency braking assistance system:
k e e p y o u r f o o t o n t h e b r a k e p e d a l .
