Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights
Equipment conditioned according
to country: when braking in an
emergency, depending on the
deceleration, the hazard warning lights

o f f a u t o m a t i c a l l y t h e fi r s t t i m e y o u
a c c e l e r a t e .
It is also possible to switch them off by
p r e s s i n g t h e b u t t o n .
DRIVING SAFETY
Applying
When parking, pull the handbrake to
i m m o b i l i z e y o u r v e h i c l e . W h e n p a r k i n g
on a slope, direct your wheels towards
t h e p a v e m e n t a n d p u l l t h e h a n d b r a k e .
Releasing
Pull on the handle and press the button
t o r e l e a s e t h e h a n d b r a k e . Pull the button located at the end of the
h a n d b r a k e f o r w a r d s .
T h e h a n d b r a k e l e v e r l o w e r s .
Y o u c a n n o w p i v o t t h e s e a t .
To return to normal operation, pull the
l e v e r u p w a r d s u n t i l a c l i c k i s h e a r d .
If the handbrake is still on or has
not been released properly, this is
indicated by:
Disengaging
A p p l y t h e h a n d b r a k e . a warning light which comes
on on the instrument panel,
an audible signal,
a m e s s a g e o n t h e d i s p l a y .

Air bags Disarming
The passenger's front air bag alone
can be disarmed:
With
the
ignition
switched
off ,
insert the key into the passenger air
bag disarming switch,
turn it to the "OFF" position,
then remove the key keeping the
s l o t i n t h i s p o s i t i o n .
Front air bags
The front air bags are incorporated in
the centre of the steering wheel for the
driver and in the fascia for the front
p a s s e n g e r .
Front air bag fault If this warning light comes on,
accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the
display, consult a CITROËN
dealer to have the system
c h e c k e d .
Reactivation
In the
"OFF" position, the passenger
air bag will not be triggered in the
e v e n t o f a n i m p a c t .
As soon as the child seat is removed,
turn the air bag slot to the "ON"
position to re-activate the air bag
and thus ensure the safety of your
p a s s e n g e r i n t h e e v e n t o f a n i m p a c t . To ensure the safety of your
child, it is essential to disarm the
passenger air bag when you install
a rear-facing child seat on the front
p a s s e n g e r s e a t .
Otherwise, the child would risk being
killed or seriously injured if the air bag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
The air bag warning light
on the instrument panel is
lit throughout the period of
d i s a r m i n g . Air bag warning lights are lit
continuously, do not install a
r e a r - f a c i n g c h i l d s e a t . C o n s u l t a

Activation
They are deployed simultaneously,
unless the passenger's front air bag
has been disarmed, in the event of a
serious front impact applied to all or
part of the front impact zone

side impact in order to limit the risk of
i n j u r y t o t h e c h e s t .
Each side air bag is incorporated in the
f r o n t s e a t b a c k f r a m e , o n t h e d o o r s i d e . T h e c u r t a i n a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n
the front or rear occupant of the vehicle
a n d t h e w i n d o w s .
Impact detection zones
A. F r o n t i m p a c t z o n e .
B. S i d e i m p a c t z o n e . In the event of a minor impact or
bump on the side of the vehicle or
if the vehicle rolls over, the air bag
m a y n o t b e t r i g g e r e d .
The air bag is not triggered in the event
o f a r e a r o r f r o n t c o l l i s i o n .

Curtain air bags
I f fi t t e d o n y o u r v e h i c l e , t h i s i s a
system which protects the driver and
passengers (with the exception of the
centre seats of rows 2 and 3) in the
event of a serious side impact in order
t o l i m i t t h e r i s k o f h e a d i n j u r i e s .
Each curtain air bag is incorporated
in the pillars and the upper part of the
p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t .
Activation
It is triggered unilaterally in the event
of a serious side impact applied to
all or part of the side impact zone
B , perpendicular to the longitudinal
centreline of the vehicle on a horizontal
plane and directed from the outside
t o w a r d s t h e i n s i d e o f t h e v e h i c l e .
T h e s i d e a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n t h e
front occupant of the vehicle and the
c o r r e s p o n d i n g d o o r t r i m p a d . Activation
It is triggered at the same time as
the corresponding side air bag in the
event of a serious side impact applied
to all or part of the side impact zone

- the battery compartment ( r i g h t - h a n d s i d e fl o o r ) ,
- the engine compartment.
The spare fuses and special pliers A
a r e fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e l i d o f t h e
i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l f u s e b o x . Before changing a fuse you must
establish the cause of the fault and
have it corrected. The fuse numbers
a r e i n d i c a t e d o n t h e f u s e b o x .
- Use the special pliers

Always change a faulty fuse for one
of the same rating.
