Electronic parking brake
Before leaving the vehicle, check that
the electronic parking brake warning
lamp P (red) is permanently on.
If you leave the vehicle with the en-
gine running, manually apply the
parking brake.
Never leave a child alone inside the
vehicle with the ignition on, as they
could release the parking brake. Parking space sensor
You can select this function by pressing

Once the space has been measured,
the function displays the following mes-
sages:

This device combines:

To aid starting on a gradient, your ve-
hicle is equipped with a system which
keeps it immobilised for about 2 sec-
onds, the approximate time it takes to
move your foot from the brake pedal to
the accelerator pedal.

the occurrence of a fault in
one of the air bag or seat
belt pretensioner systems.
Maximum coolant temperature
If this comes on, it indicates
that the temperature in the
cooling system is too high.
Stop the vehicle immediately
and as safely as possible.
Low fuel level When the tank is full, all the
bars are lit up.
If the fuel low warning lamp comes on
accompanied by an audible signal and
a message on the multifunction screen,
there are approximately 7 litres of fuel
remaining in the tank and 2 or 3 bars
fl ash in the instrument panel.
When the last bar goes out, there
are approximately 2 litres of fuel re-
maining in the tank.
A control located on the panel to the
left of the steering wheel allows you
to open the fuel fl ap from inside the
vehicle.
Battery charge If this comes on, it indicates
the occurrence of a fault in
the battery charging circuit
(dirty or loose terminals, slack
or cut alternator belt,...). Door open
A door, the boot or the rear
screen is open:
- if the speed is below 6 mph
(10 km/h),this warning light
comes on continuously.
- if the speed is higher than 6 mph (10 km/h), this warning
light comes on continuously, ac-
companied by an audible signal.
Seat belt not fastened/
unfastened This warning lamp informs
you if the driver’s or front
passenger’s seat belt is
not fastened (depending
on model), and if the front
passenger’s (depending on
model) or the second row
passengers’ seat belts are
unfastened. The lit up positions rep-
resent those whose seat belts are
not fastened/unfastened. Seat belts unfastened during the
journey:
- the point corresponding to the
seat position with seat belt un-
fastened lights up between 0 and
20 km/h. Above 20 km/h (approx.
12 mph), it fl ashes accompanied
by a sound signal for around
120 seconds. The sound sig-
nal stops when the ignition
is switched off or if a door is
opened.
Depending on model, the front pas-
senger seat may be fi tted with a
presence sensor; the correspond-
ing warning lamp will only come on
if the seat is occupied and the seat
belt not fastened.
Driver’s or front passenger’s seat belt
not fastened with presence sensor:
- the warning lamp lights up between
0 and 20 km/h. Above 20 km/h
(approx.12mph), it fl ashes accom-
panied by a message on the multi-
function screen and a sound signal
for around 120 seconds.
Rear passengers’ or front passen-
ger’s seat belt not fastened without
presence sensor:
- when the ignition is switched on, the points corresponding to the seat po-
sitions with seat belts not fastened
remain lit up for 30 seconds.

Air conditioning
To ensure that your system operates
correctly, it is recommended to have
it checked regularly.
Water arising from condensation
in the air conditioning drains away
through a hole provided for this pur-
pose. A pool of water may thus form
under the vehicle when stationary.
To keep the air conditioning com-
pressor well sealed, it is essential to
operate the air conditioning at least
once in every month.
Regardless of the season, the air
conditioning is useful, since it reduces
humidity and condensation.
To be effective, the air conditioning
should only be used with the win-
dows closed.
If after a lengthy stop in bright sunlight
the interior temperature is excessive,
air the passenger compartment by
opening the windows for a few mo-
ments, then close them again.
The air conditioning operates by using
power from the engine. This results in
a slight increase in fuel consumption.
Dust filter/Odour filter (active
carbon)
There is a fi lter for excluding odours
and dust.
This fi lter has to be changed in ac-
cordance with the vehicle mainte-
nance schedule (see "Maintenance
Guide").
Air circulation
Air vents on the fl oor underneath the
front seats provide enhanced heat-
ing for the rear seat positions; take
care not to obstruct them.
Air vents
The air vents to the face have grilles
and thumbwheels to adjust the air
fl ow and direction (up-down, right-
left).
The automatic regulation of the air
conditioning, inside the cabin, uses
a number of sensors (sunlight sen-
sor, outside temperature sensor...)
that relieve you of the need to make
frequent adjustments outside the
displayed temperature.
Be careful not to obstruct the sun-
light sensor, located on the dash-
board behind the instrument panel.

C. fog lamps selection ring.
The fog lamps operate with the side
lights and the dipped and main beam
headlamps.
- 1 st turn forwards: lighting of rear foglamp.
- 1 st turn rearwards: extinction of rear foglamp. - 1 st turn forwards: lighting of front
foglamps.
- 2 nd turn forwards: lighting of rear foglamps.
- 1 st turn rearwards: extinction of rear foglamps.
- 2 nd turn rearwards: extinction of front foglamps.
Model with rear foglamp only
Model with front and rear
foglamps In good or rainy weather, both day
and night, the front fog lamps and
the rear fog lamp are prohibited. In
these situations, the power of their
beams may dazzle other drivers.
They should only be used in fog or
snow.
In these weather conditions, it is
your responsibility to switch on the
fog lamps and dipped headlamps
manually as the brightness sensor
may detect suffi cient light.
Do not forget to switch off the front
fog lamps and the rear fog lamp
when they are no longer neces-
sary.
Lights on buzzer
The triggering of an audible signal
when a front door is opened warns
the driver that he has forgotten to
switch off his vehicle's lights, with
the ignition off and in manual lights
mode.
In this case, switching off the lights
stops the audible signal.
With the ignition off, if the dipped
headlamps remain on, they will
switch off automatically after thirty
minutes to prevent discharging of
the battery.

Linked with the automatic
"Guide-me-home" lighting
Association with the automatic lighting
provides the "guide-me-home" lighting
with the following additional options:
- selection of the duration of main-taining of the lighting for 15, 30
or 60 seconds in the vehicle
parameters on the multifunc-
tion display confi guration menu
(in the case of the monochrome
screen A, the duration is fi xed),
- automatic activation of "guide- me-home" lighting when auto-
matic lighting is in operation.
Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction of the
brightness sensor, the lights come
on, a message appears on the mul-
tifunction display, accompanied by
an audible signal.
Consult a CITROËN dealer. In fog or snow, the brightness
sensor may detect suffi cient light.
Therefore, the lights will not come
on automatically.
Do not cover the brightness sensor,
linked with the rain sensor and
located in the centre of the wind-
screen behind the interior mirror; the
associated functions would no longer
be controlled. EXTERIOR SIDE LIGHTERS
These illuminate:
- the zones facing the driver’s and passenger’s doors,
- the zones forward of the door mir- rors and rearward of the front doors.
Switching on
The side lighters come on:
- when you unlock the vehicle or press on the lighting button on
the remote control,
- when you remove the key from the ignition,
- when you open a door,
- when you use the remote control.
Switching off
They are timed to go out automatically.

To avoid dazzling other road users,
the height of the halogen bulb head-
lamps must be adjusted according
to the load in the vehicle. To do this,
turn the control, located below the
fascia to the left of the driver, to the
appropriate position:

0. 1 or 2 people in the front seats.

1. 4 to 7 people.

2. 4 to 7 people + maximum autho-
rised loads.
