DRIVING Driver information
The symbol which corresponds to the
selection, R , N , E or M and the number
of the gear engaged 1 to 5 , are displayed on the instrument panel screen.
SENSODRIVE GEARBOX
T h e fi v e - s p e e d " S e n s o D r i v e " g e a r -
box offers a choice between the
ease of automatic operation or
t h e d r i v i n g p l e a s u r e o f manual gear
changing .
Driving mode
S e l e c t t h e d r i v i n g m o d e b y m o v i n g
t h e g e a r l e v e r .
R e v e r s e " R " . T h i s g e a r w i l l b e e n -
gaged when stationary or at a
speed below approximately 4 mph
(6 km/h).
E n g a g e m e n t o f r e v e r s e g e a r i s
accompanied by an audible signal.
N e u t r a l " N " .
P o s i t i o n t h e l e v e r t o t h e r i g h t i n p o s i -
tion N , to start the engine .
E a s y " E " : a u t o m a t i c g e a r c h a n g i n g .
M a n u a l ( + / - ) " M " : m a n u a l g e a r
changing. Starting the engine
With the parking brake applied, press
the brake pedal then select position
N to start the engine.
With your foot on the brake, select
position R , E or M .
R e l e a s e t h e p a r k i n g b r a k e , t a k e
your foot off the brake pedal, then
accelerate.
Notes: w i t h t h e e n g i n e r u n -

tions, an audible signal is
h e a r d w h e n t h e d r i v e r ' s d o o r
is opened.
You can change from position E to
position M a n d v i c e v e r s a a t a n y

EASY mode (automatic mode)
Select position E u s i n g t h e g e a r l e v e r .
The gear engaged is displayed on
the instrument panel screen.
The gearbox continuously selects
the most suitable gear.
Manual mode
P l a c e t h e g e a r l e v e r i n p o s i t i o n M ,
then change up or down through the
g e a r s b y p r e s s i n g :
- r e a r w a r d s , "+" to change up,
- f o r w a r d s , "-" to change down.
The gear engaged is displayed on
the instrument panel screen.
If the engine speed is too low, the
gearbox automatically changes down
t o p r e v e n t s t a l l i n g .
I n t h e e v e n t o f o v e r h e a t i n g o f
the clutch, position N is selected
automatically and the symbol N
fl a s h e s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal. Operating fault
Stopping the engine
Before switching off the engine, you
can change to position N to be in
neutral.
In all cases, it is essential that you
apply the parking brake to immobilise
t h e v e h i c l e . With the ignition on, the
lighting of this warning
lamp indicates a gearbox
malfunction.
On a slope, use the brake
t o i m m o b i l i s e t h e v e h i c l e
a n d p l a c e t h e g e a r l e v e r i n
position N , E or R .
D o n o t k e e p t h e v e h i c l e i m m o b i l i s e d
using the accelerator.
Always press the brake pedal
while starting the engine.
N e v e r s e l e c t n e u t r a l N while
t h e v e h i c l e i s m o v i n g .
In all cases, it is essential to
apply the parking brake to

DIRECTION INDICATOR SIDE REPEATERS(WY 5 W AMBER)
Push the repeater forwards or
rearwards and detach it by pulling
towards you.
Disconnect the bulb holder and
change it.
CHANGING A FUSE
The fuse boxes are located under the
instrument panel trim and next to the
battery in the engine compartment.
Correct
Removing and fitting a fuse
Before changing a fuse, the cause
of the incident must be found and
r e c t i fi e d .
Use the pliers A located in the
fuse box under the bonnet.
Incorrect
Pliers A Instrument panel fuse boxes
These are located on each side of
the instrument panel under the trim.
Turn the steering wheel to the
left, remove bolt B .
Turn the steering wheel to the
right (do not forget to release the
steering wheel using the key),
remove bolt C .
Always replace a faulty fuse
with a fuse of the same rating
(same colour).

trim, and the rev counter trim if
necessary, to gain access to the
fuses located on the left and on
the right.
For the rev counter, partially
unscrew bolt D located behind it.
