Mesh the governor gear 2, and impeller shaft
gear 3with primary drive gear 4.
6. Install:
9Bolt [crankcase cover (right)] 1
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts in stage, using a crisscross
pattern.
7. Install:
9Kick starter 1
9Plain washer 2
9Bolt (kick starter) 3
NOTE:
Install the kick starter closest to but not contact-
ing the pillar tube 4.
8. Install:
9Shift pedal 1
9Bolt (shift pedal) 2
NOTE:
Align the upper line aof the shift pedal with the
center bof the crankcase projection and rotate
the shift pedal counterclockwise until it first
engages. Then install the shift pedal.

Use the crankshaft installing tool 2, 3, 4.

NOTE:
9Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to the sur-
face awhere the crankshaft and bearing come
in contact.
9Use two plain washers (Yamaha genuine:
90201-243K3) 5or the ones of a size as
shown one on the other. (Except for USA and
CDN)
9Install so that the plain washers do not deviate
from the crankshaft center. (Except for USA
and CDN)
9When installing the crankcase, the connecting
rod should be positioned at TDC (top dead
center).
9Install while checking that the dowel pin is in
place.

Front wheel
1. Install:
9Bearing (left) 1
9Spacer 2
9Bearing (right) 3
9Oil seal 4
NOTE:
9Apply the lithium soap base grease on the
bearing and oil seal lip when installing.
9Use a socket that matches the outside diam-
eter of the race of the bearing.
9Left side of bearing shall be installed first.
9Install the oil seal with its manufacture’s
marks or numbers facing outward.

Do not strike the inner race of the bearing.
Contact should be made only with the out-
er race.
2. Install:
9Brake disc 1
9Bolt (brake disc) 2
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts in stage, using a crisscross
pattern.
3. Install:
9Collar 1
NOTE:
9Apply the lithium soap base grease on the oil
seal lip.
9Install the collars with their projections afacing
the wheel.
4. Install:
9Wheel
NOTE:
Install the brake disc 1between the brake pads
2correctly.
