FUEL
Always use the recommended fuel
as stated below. Also, be sure to use
new gasoline.
CAUTION:
Use only unleaded gasoline. The
use of leaded gasoline will cause
severe damage to the engine inter-
nal parts such as valves, piston
rings, and exhaust system, etc.
NOTE:If knocking or pinging occurs, use a
different brand of gasoline or higher
octane grade.
WARNING
For refueling, be sure to stop the
engine and use enough care not
to spill any fuel. Also be sure to
avoid refueling close to a fire.
Refuel after the engine, exhaust
pipe, etc. have cooled off.
Gasohol (For Canada)
There are two types of gasohol: gas-
ohol containing ethanol and that con-
taining methanol. Gasohol containing
ethanol can be used if the ethanol
content does not exceed 10%. Gaso-
hol containing methanol is not rec-
ommended by Yamaha because it
can cause damage to the fuel system
or vehicle performance problems.

Premium unleaded

number of 95 or

CARBURANT
Toujours utiliser le carburant recom-
mandé, comme indiqué ci-après. Tou-
jours utiliser de la nouvelle essence.
ATTENTION:
Utiliser exclusivement de l’essence
sans plomb. L’utilisation d’essence
avec plomb endommagera gravement
les pièces internes du moteur telles
que soupapes, segments de piston, sys-
tème d’échappement, etc.
N.B.:
En cas de cognement ou de cliquetis, uti-
liser une autre marque d’essence ou une
essence d’un indice d’octane supérieur.
AVERTISSEMENT
Au moment de faire le plein, ne pas
oublier de couper le moteur. Procé-
der avec soin pour ne pas renverser
d’essence. Eviter de faire le plein à
proximité d’un feu.
Faire le plein lorsque le moteur, le
tube d’échappement, etc. sont
refroidis.
Carburol (pour le Canada)
Il existe deux types de carburol: le car-
burol contenant de l’éthanol et celui con-
tenant du méthanol. Le carburol
contenant de l’éthanol peut être utilisé si
la teneur en éthanol ne dépasse pas les
10%. Yamaha ne recommande pas le
carburol contenant du méthanol car il
peut endommager le circuit d’alimenta-
tion ou affecter les performances du
véhicule.

Main system
The FLATCR carburetor has a pri-
mary main jet. This type of main jet is
perfect for racing machines since it
supplies an even flow of fuel, even at
full load. Use the main jet and the jet
needle to set the carburetor.

The richness of the air-fuel mixture at
full throttle can be set by changing

Le gicleur principal
