On-Command differential gear lock switch
“4WD”/”LOCK”
To lock the differential gear in 4WD, stop the vehi-
cle, make sure the On-Command four-wheel-drive
switch is set to “4WD”, move the select lever to po-
sition b, and then set the switch to “LOCK”. When
the differential gear is locked, the differential gear
lock indicator light (“DIFF.LOCK”) will come on
along with the differential gear lock indicator “”
in the multi-function meter unit display. To release
the differential gear lock, stop the vehicle and set
the switch to “4WD”.
WARNING
Always ride at a slow speed when the vehicle
is in 4WD-LOCK, and allow extra time and dis-
tance for maneuvers.
All wheels turn at the same speed when the dif-
ferential is locked, so it takes more effort to
turn the vehicle. The amount of effort is more
the faster you go. You may lose control and
have an accident if you cannot make a sharp
enough turn for the speed you are traveling.

Pour bloquer le différentiel en traction sur quatre roues,
arrêter le véhicule, s’assurer que le contacteur de com-
mande du mode de traction est placé sur “4WD”, placer
le sélecteur à la position b, puis placer le contacteur à la
position “LOCK”. Lorsque le différentiel est bloqué, le
témoin de blocage du différentiel (“DIFF. LOCK”) s’al-
lume et l’indicateur “” s’affiche à l’écran du bloc de
compteurs multifonctions. Pour débloquer le différentiel,
arrêter le véhicule et placer le contacteur sur “4WD”.
AVERTISSEMENT
Toujours rouler lentement lorsque le véhicule est en
mode “4WD-LOCK” et se réserver plus de temps et
d’espace pour les manœuvres.
Quand le différentiel est bloqué, toutes les roues tour-
nent à la même vitesse, ce qui rend la prise de virages
plus difficile. L’effort à fournir pour effectuer un vi-
rage augmente avec la vitesse du véhicule. Il y a ris-
que de perte de contrôle du véhicule et d’accident si
l’on ne parvient pas à effectuer un virage suffisam-
ment serré pour la vitesse du véhicule.

pare el vehículo, confirme que el selector manual de

Cuando el engranaje del diferencial está bloqueado,
se enciende la luz indicadora de bloqueo del engra-
naje del diferencial (“DIFF. LOCK”) junto con el indi-

en el visualizador de la unidad de medidores de fun-
ciones múltiples. Para desbloquear el engranaje del
diferencial, pare el vehículo y ajuste el selector en
“4WD”.
ADVERTENCIA
Con el vehículo en 4WD-LOCK, circule siempre
despacio y prevea más tiempo y distancia para
las maniobras.
Cuando el diferencial está bloqueado todas las
ruedas giran a la misma velocidad y los virajes
requieren un esfuerzo mayor. El esfuerzo reque-
rido es mayor cuanto más elevada sea la veloci-
dad del vehículo. Si no consigue realizar un vira-
je lo suficientemente cerrado para la velocidad a
la que está circulando, puede perder el control y
sufrir un accidente.

NOTE:_

When the switch is set to “LOCK”, the differ-
ential gear lock indicator and indicator light
will flash until the differential gear is locked.


When the indicator and indicator light are
flashing, turning the steering wheel back and
forth will help the differential gear lock to en-
gage.


Riding before the differential gear lock is
properly engaged (e.g., when the indicator
and indicator light are flashing) will cause the
engine speed to be limited until engagement
is complete.

Seats
To remove a seat, pull its seat lock lever upward,
lift the front of the seat, and then slide the seat for-
ward and up.
To install a seat, insert the projections on the rear
of the seat into the seat holders and push down on
the seat at the front.
WARNING
Make sure the seat is securely latched. If the
seat is loose during operation, the operator
could lose control or the operator or passen-
ger could fall off the vehicle.

Lifting and lowering the cargo bed
To lift Push down the cargo bed release lever on the left
or right side of the vehicle, and then slowly lift up
the cargo bed until it stops.
To lower Lower the cargo bed slowly to its original position
and be sure it is locked into place.
WARNING
Before opening or closing the bed, be sure oth-
ers are standing away from the vehicle. To
avoid pinching your hands and fingers, keep
them away from the pinch points between the
bed and the frame.
