PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR
6-10
613. Pour only 2.5 L (2.6 US qt) (2.2
Imp.qt) of the specified amount of
recommended engine oil through
the filler hole, insert the dipstick,
and then tighten the oil filler cap.
14. Start the engine, rev it several
times, and then turn it off.
15. Remove the engine oil filler cap,
and then gradually fill the oil tank
with the remaining oil quantity
while regularly checking the oil lev-
el on the dipstick.
CAUTION:
ECA15080
In order to prevent clutch slip-
page (since the engine oil also
lubricates the clutch), do not
mix any chemical additives. Do
not use oils with a diesel speci-
fication of “CD” or oils of a high-
er quality than specified. In
addition, do not use oils labeled
“ENERGY CONSERVING II” or
higher.
Make sure that no foreign mate-rial enters the oil tank.
16. Install the engine oil filler cap.
17. Start the engine, and then let it idle
for several minutes while checking
it for oil leakage. If oil is leaking, im-
mediately turn the engine off and
check for the cause.
18. Turn the engine off, and then
check the oil level and correct it if
necessary.
19. Install the cowling.
