8SEAT maintenance programmeGeneral informationThis maintenance programme will inform you of the w ork that should be 
carried out regularly on your vehicle in order to ensure th e safety, reliability 
and durability required.
Using the “vehicle id entification” data or the data in this document, wi ll 
ensure the correct spare parts for your vehicle are specified in c ase of repairs, 
for many years after the initial purchase.
We recommend that you keep this maintenance  programme with the vehicle 
documents. The record of inspections carried out is one of  the essential 
requirements for exercising your rights under wa rranty.
The maintenance programme shows the date of delive ry, and this indicates 
the starting date of the vehicle warranty.Maintenance ProgrammeThe SEAT maintenance programme consists of the dif ferent inspection serv-
ices which are carried out according to the time sin ce the vehicle purchase or 
the mileage.
Each Inspection Service, as well as any additional oper ation required already 
has a pre-established work time. This will allow you to  know the total cost of 
the service beforehand.
The SEAT Service Centre network is  equipped with modern workshop tech-
nology and well-trained specialists. Many SEAT Serv ice Centres offer different 
service packages at special prices.
Adverse conditionsThe Service Centre “service advisor” will inform you o f any necessary addi-
tional work within the intervals defined by the Inspection S ervice, according 
to the conditions and environment in which the vehicle i s used. For example, 
an oil change where the vehicle is used  only for frequent short journeys or is 
subject to extreme temperatures. Likewi se, when the vehicle is used in dusty 
conditions the air, dust and pollen filter cartridges must  be changed more 
often and the timing belt checked.Diesel fuelThe Service Centre “service advisor”  can provide information about which 
countries use fuel with a high sulphur content. In th ese cases, the oil must be 
changed every 7,500 km (5,000 miles).
Caution
•
Vehicles with the label “UNSUITABLE FOR BIODIESEL” on th e fuel cover 
cannot be driven using biodiesel.
•
To be certain if your vehicle can be  used with biodiesel according to the 
DIN EN 14214 (FAME) standard consult your Serv ice Centre.
•
DIN is a German abbreviation for “Deutsches I nstitut für  Normung e.V.”, 
the German standards institute.
•
EN means  European  Norm.
•
FAME is the English abbreviation “F atty Acid Methyl  Ester”

inside of the driver door frame; you will also be reminded  by the service 
interval counter on the instrument pane l, and the service records in this docu-
ment.

We recommend that you visit an Authorised SEAT Serv ice Centre whenever 
you require any work done on your vehicle.
•
SEAT regularly communicates to its Authorised Servic e Centres new 
product developments. They have tools  and highly specialized personnel 
who can guarantee the safety and performance of your ve hicle.
•
Scrupulously following the General Programme for Inspection Services in 
Authorised SEAT Service Centres will ensure you maint ain greater value for 
your vehicle.
Maintenance intervalsThe SEAT maintenance programme requires that your v ehicle undergoes an 
inspection every 15,000 km (10,000 miles) or onc e a year. 
Depending on your style of driving, the maintenance progr amme will depend 
on the mileage of the vehicle or on the time since the d ate of purchase.For those vehicles covering more than 15,000 km (10,000 mil
es) / year, the 
maintenance will be performed according to the mileage (see the  example on 
table 1).
For those vehicles covering less than 15,000 km (10 ,000 miles) /year, the 
maintenance will be programmed according to the time (se e the example on 
table 2).

Example of maintenance according to time
However, there are different specific “additional jo bs” depending on the 
distance covered or the time passed since delivery . For ex ample:•
Timing belt change (depending on the mileage).
•
Change of brake fluid (for the first time after 3 years or 200,000 km 
(125,000 miles), then every two years).

Engine oil and oil filter: Replace.
•
Front and rear brake pads: Check

Service interval indicator on the instrument panel: Re set.

Tyres, including the spare wheel: Check surface, tread and tyre pressure.
•
Interior and glove compartment lighting , cigarette lighter, warning lights 
and horn: Check operation.
•
Front/rear lights, luggage compartmen t lighting, indicators and hazard 
lights: Check operation
•
Windscreen wiper and headlight wiper system: Check  operation and look 
for possible damage, fill if necessary.
•
Exhaust installation: Check attachments and check fo r leaks and 
damage.
Inspection Service every 30,000 km (20,000 miles) or every 2 yearsOperations to be performed on your vehicle:•
Exhaust installation: Check attachments and check fo r leaks and damage.
•
Steering system ball joints: Check attachments and c heck for leaks and 
damage. Check for play.
•
“Next service” label: Write the date and mileage, and att ach it to the door 
frame.
•
Automatic gearbox (differe ntial): Check the oil level, top up if necessary.
•
Battery: Test
•
Brake system: Check for leaks and damage.
•
Front and rear brake pads: check
•
Brake fluid level, according to brake pad wear: Check.
•
Self-diagnosis: Check fault memory in all systems.
•
Front/rear lights, luggage compartmen t lighting, indicators and hazard 
lights: Check operation.
