Movewiperleverforwardstothefirstclick.Therearwindowwiperwipesatpresetintervals.
Therearwiperisautomaticallyswitchedoffwhenaspeedof130mph(210km/h)isexceeded.Itisswitchedonagainwhenthespeedfallsbelow124mph(200km/h).
OnvehicleswiththeSportChronoPackagePlus,furtherrearwiperfunctionscanbeselectedviathePCM.

4.Presstogethertheplasticspringofthewiperbladeandengageitinthewiperarmuntilitsnapsintoplace.
5.Carefullyfoldwiperarmbackontothewindow.

Moisturewhichgetsontothebrakesduringacarwashcanreducebrakingefciencyormakethebrakespullunevenlywhichcouldincreasethedangerofanaccident,causingseriouspersonalinjuriesordeath.
Alwaysapplythebrakesafewtimesafterwashingthecartotestbrakingefficiencyanddrythebrakediscs.Whendoingthis,takecarenottohamperotherroadusersbehindyou(trafficconditionspermitting).

Duetotheconstantchangingofloadsandstrainstowhichacarissubjecttowhendrivingonroads,minorwindnoiseandseepageatjointsbetweenthetop,bodyanddoorsonconvertibletopscannotbecompletelysealedincertainareas.Thereforesmallleaksareconsiderednormalforthesemodels.Inaddition,yourconvertibletopshouldnotbewashedinacarwash.Thetopmayexperiencedamagebythebrushesormayexperienceleaksduetothehighpressurewaterstreamsdirectedinareaswhichwouldnotencounterwaterinnormaldrivingconditions.

Removetarstains,grease,oilspotsanddeadinsectsassoonaspossiblewithInsectRemover.Theycancausediscolorationifallowedtoremainonthepaintwork.
Washtheaffectedareaimmediatelyaftertreatingit.
Minorpaintdamage
Haveminorpaintdamage,suchasscratches,scoresorchipscausedbyflyingstones,repairedimmediatelybyyourauthorizedPorschedealerbeforecorrosionsetsin.
However,iftherearealreadytracesofcorrosion,theymustfirstberemovedcarefullyandthorough-ly.Coattheareawitharust-proofingprimerandfinishoffwithatopcoat.ThepaintcodeandcolornumberarefoundonthedatabankintheMainte-nancebookletandonthefillerflap.
Enginecompartment
Theenginecompartmentandthesurfaceoftheenginearetreatedwithacorrosion-inhibitoratthefactory.
Ifdegreasingsolventsareusedtocleantheenginecompartmentortheengineiswasheddown,theprocessalmostinvariablyremovesthecorrosion-inhibitingcoating.Itisthenabsolutelynecessarytohaveadurablepreservativeappliedtoallsurfaces,bodyseams,jointsandassembliesintheenginecompartment.Thisalsoapplieswhencorrosion-inhibitorpartsarereplaced.

Effectivecorrosion-proofingisparticularlyimpor-tantduringthecoldweatherseason.Ifyourcarisdrivenfrequentlyinareaswheresalthasbeenspreadontheroads,thewholeenginecompart-mentshouldbecleanedthoroughlyafterthewintertopreventsaltfromcausinganylastingdamage.Afullunder-bodywashshouldalsobeperformedatthesametime.
Windows
Theroaddustwhichsettlesonthewindshieldandwindowscontainsparticlesoftirerubber
andoilresidue.Theinteriortrimandupholsteryreleaseparticles,particularlyinstrongsunlight,whichcollectontheinsidesofthewindows.Thesedepositsareaugmentedbyimpuritiesintheairwhichentersthecarthroughthefreshairvents.
Cleanallwindowsregularly,insideandoutside,withPorschewindowcleaner.
Ifyouuseachamoisleatherforthewindows,donotuseitforpaintworkasitwillotherwisepickupacertainamountofpreservativeorpolishandcouldsmearthewindowsandthusimpairvision.
RemovedeadinsectswithPorscheinsectremover.
Note
Doorwindowsfeatureawater-repellent(hydropho-bic)coatingwhichpreventssoilingofthewindows.Thiscoatingissubjecttonaturalwearandcanberenewed.
