Carswithcatalyticconvertershaveasmallerfueltankopening,andgasstationpumpshavesmallernozzles.Thiswillpreventaccidentalpumpingofleadedfuelintocarswithcatalyticconverters.
UnleadedfuelsmaynotbeavailableoutsidethecontinentalU.S.andCanada.Therefore,werecommendyoudonottakeyourcartoareasorcountrieswhereunleadedfuelmaynotbeavailable.

Fueltankventing
Theevaporationchamberandthecarboncanisterpreventfuelfromescapingtotheatmosphereatextremehighoutsidetemperatures,whendrivingabruptlyaroundcurvesandwhenthecarisparkedataninclineorinanyothernonlevelposition.
Vaporcontrolsystemandstorage
Whenthefueltankisfilled,vaporsarecollectedintheevaporationchamberbyaventlineleadingthevaporstothecarboncanisterwheretheyarestoredaslongastheenginedoesnotrun.
Purgesystem
Whentheengineisrunning,thefuelvaporsfromthecanisterwillbemixedwithfreshairfromtheambientairofthecanister.Thismixturewillbedirectedtotheintakeairhousingbythetankventline,mixedwiththeintakeairandburnedduringnormalcombustion.
