2007 PONTIAC SOLSTICE cruise control

This is normal and does not mean there is
a problem with your vehicle. The system
should initialize before the vehicle reaches
20 mph (32 km/h).
If the system fails to turn on or activate, the
ESC/TCS light will be on solid, and the ESC OFF
or SERVICE ESC message will be displayed.

the instrument panel
cluster when the
ESC system is both
on and activated.
You may also feel or hear the system working;
this is normal.When the light is on solid and either the
SERVICE ESC or ESC OFF message is displayed,
the system will not assist the driver in maintaining
directional control of the vehicle. Adjust your

The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system is
automatically enabled whenever you start
your vehicle. To assist the driver with vehicle
directional control, especially in slippery road
conditions, you should always leave the system
on. But, you can turn ESC off if you ever need to.
If the vehicle is in cruise control when the system
begins to assist the driver maintain directional
control of the vehicle, the ESC/TCS light will ash
and the cruise control will automatically disengage.
When road conditions allow you to use cruise
again, you may re-engage the cruise control.

Engine Cooling System Inspection
Inspect the hoses and have them replaced if
they are cracked, swollen or deteriorated. Inspect
all pipes, ttings and clamps; replace as needed.
Clean the outside of the radiator and air
conditioning condenser. To help ensure proper
operation, a pressure test of the cooling system
and pressure cap is recommended at least
once a year.
Throttle System Inspection
Inspect the throttle system for interference or
binding, and for damaged or missing parts.
Replace parts as needed. Replace any
components that have high effort or excessive
wear. Do not lubricate accelerator and cruise
control cables.
Brake System Inspection
Inspect the complete system. Inspect brake lines
and hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks,
cracks, chang, etc. Inspect disc brake pads for
wear and rotors for surface condition. Inspect other
brake parts, including calipers, parking brake,
etc. You may need to have your brakes inspected
more often if your driving habits or conditions
result in frequent braking.
