Inside rear view mirror
■To prevent sensor error
CAUTION
■Caution while driving
Do not adjust the position of the mirror.
Doing so may lead to mishandling of the vehicle and an accident, or resulting in
death or serious injury.
In the “AUTO” mode, sensors are used to detect the headlights of vehicles
behind and automatically re duces the reflected light.
Turns “AUTO” mode on/off
The indicator comes on when
“AUTO” mode is turned ON.
The mirror is automatically set
to “AUTO” whenever the power
switch is turned ON.
To ensure correct functioning of the sensors,
do not touch or cover the sensors.

rors will activate in conjunction with the inside rear view mirror to reduce reflected

Before driving
■Operating the power windows after turning the power switch “OFF”
The power windows can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even after the
power switch is switched to “ACC” mode or turned “OFF”. They cannot, however,
be operated once the driver’s or front passenger’s door is opened.
■Jam protection function
If an object becomes caught between th e window and the window frame, window
travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly.
■When the 12 volt battery is disconnected
The power windows must be initialized in order to ensure proper operation. 
(Perform for each window with the switch for each seat.)
Open the window halfway.
Fully close the window by pulling the switch up and continue holding the
switch for 1 second.
The indicator on the switch changes from a flashing pattern to being on when initial-
izing are complete.

Settings (e.g. linked door lock operation) can be changed. ( P. 5 1 2 )
CAUTION
■When closing the windows
Observe the following precautions. 
Failing to do so may result in death or serious injury.
●Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a
position where it could be caught when a window is being operated.
●Do not allow children to operate the power windows. 
Closing a power window on someone can cause death or serious injury.
■Jam protection function
●Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection function
intentionally.
●The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before
the window fully closes.

Hybrid vehicle immobilizer system
■System maintenance
The vehicle has a maintenance-free type of hybrid vehicle immobilizer system.
■Conditions that may cause the system to malfunction
●If the grip portion of the key is in contact with a metallic object.
●If the key is in close proximity to or touching a key to the security system (key
with a built-in transponder chip) of another vehicle.
■Certifications for the hybrid vehicle immobilizer system For vehicles sold in the U.S.A.

Alarm
Deactivating or stopping the alarmDo one of the following:
● Unlock the doors or trunk using the smart access system with push-
button start or the wireless remote control.
● Start the hybrid system. (The alarm wi ll be deactivated or stopped after
a few seconds.)
■Items to check before locking the vehicle
To prevent unintended triggering of the alar m, check that there is no one in the vehi-
cle, and that all windows and moon roof are closed before locking the vehicle.
The alarm warns of forcible entry using the horn and lights.
To arm the alarm, exit the vehi-
cle, make sure that the doors,
trunk and hood are closed, and
lock all the doors.
The system will operate auto-
matically once the indicator
changes from lit to flashing.
