Before driving
Open one of the doors.
If a door is not opened within 60 seconds after is pressed, the
doors will be locked again and the alarm will automatically be set.
In case that the alarm is triggered, immediately stop the alarm.

■Canceling the linked do or unlock operation
Close the driver’s door with the en gine switch set
to the “OFF” mode.
Push the “SET” button and the or button on the wireless remote con-
trol at the same time for about 1 second until you hear 2 beeps.
■Retained accessory power
Each memorized position (except for the tilt and telescopic steering column) can
b
e activated within 30 seconds after the co rresponding side door is opened, even if
the engine switch is in the “OFF” mode.
■If any position memory button is push ed while the adjustments are being made
The operation will stop. To reactivate the sy st
em, push the desired button (“1” or “2”)
again.
■If the battery is disconnected
The memorized positions must be reset be cause the computer's memory is erased
when the battery is disconnected.
CAUTION
■Seat adjustment caution
Take care during seat adjustment that the seat does not strike the rear passenger or
squeeze your body against the steering wheel.
If this happens, you can stop the movement by pressing another seat position mem-
ory button.

The power windows can be operated for ap pr
oximately 45 seconds even after the
engine switch is switched to “ACC” mode or turned “OFF”. They cannot, however,
be operated once the driver’s or front passenger’s door is opened.
■Jam protection function
If an object becomes caught between th e
window and the window frame, window
travel is stopped and the window is opened slightly.
■When the battery is disconnected
The power windows must be initialized in order to ensure proper operation.
(Perform for each window with the switch for each seat.)
Open the window halfway.
Fully close the window by pulling the swi
tch up and continue holding the
switch for 1 second.
The indicator on the switch changes from a flashing pattern to being on when initial
setting
s are complete.

■Items to check before locking the vehicle
To prevent unexpected triggering of the alarm and vehicle theft, make sure of the
fo
llowing
●Nobody is in the vehicle.
●The windows and moon roof are closed before the alarm is set.
●No valuables or other personal items are left in the vehicle.
■Tr i g g e r i n g o f t h e a l a r m
The alarm may be triggered in the
following situations.
(Stopping the alarm deactivates the alarm system.)
●A person inside the vehicle opens a door, the trunk or hood.
●The battery is recharged or replaced when the vehicle is locked.
■Pa n i c m o d e
When is pushed for longer than about
one second, the headlights/tail lights/emer-
gency flashers will flash, the front and rear
interior lights will come on, and an alarm will
sound for about 60 seconds to deter any
person from trying to break into or damage
your vehicle.
To stop the alarm, push any button on the
wireless remote control.

■When to contact your Lexus dealer
In the following cases, contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible. Do not dis-
connect the battery cables before contacting your Lexus dealer.
●Any of the SRS airbags have been inflated.
●The front of the vehicle is damaged or
deformed, or was involved in an accident
that was not severe enough to cause the
SRS airbags to inflate.
●A portion of the doors is damaged or
deformed, or the vehicle was involved in an
accident that was not severe enough to
cause the SRS side airbags and curtain
shield airbags to inflate.
●The pad section of the steering wheel, front
passenger airbag cover or lower portion of
the instrument panel is scratched, cracked,
or otherwise damaged.
●The surface of the seats with the side air-
bag is scratched, cracked, or otherwise
damaged.
●The portion of the front pillars, rear pillars
or roof side rail garnishes (padding) con-
taining the curtain shield airbags is
scratched, cracked, or otherwise dam-
aged.

CAUTION
■When starting the engine
Always start the engine while sitting in the driver’s seat. Do not press the accelera-
tor pedal while starting the en gine under any circumstances.
Doing so may cause an accident resu lting in death or serious injury.
■Caution while driving
Do not touch the engine switch while driving.
Pressing and holding the engine switch will stop the engine, which may lead to an
accident.

Do not leave the engine switch in “ACC” or “IG-ON” mode for long periods if the
engine is not running.
■When starting the engine
●Do not race the engine.
●If the engine becomes difficult to start or stalls frequently, have the engine
checked immediately.

2-3. Operating the lights and windshield wipers
■Automatic light off system
The headlights and tail lights turn off 30 seconds after a door is opened or closed if
the engine switch has been switched to “ACC” or turned “OFF” while the headlights
are turned on. (The lights turn off immediately if the button on the key is pressed
after all doors are locked.)
To turn the lights on again, switch to “IG-ON” mode, or turn the light switch “OFF”
once and then back to the or position.
■Automatic headlight leveling system
The level of the headlights is automatica lly adjusted according to the number of
passengers and the loading condition of the vehicle to ensure that the headlights do
not interfere with other road users.
■If the indicator flashes...
It may indicate a malfunction in the system. Contact your Lexus dealer.
■Customization
Settings (e.g. light sensor sensitivity) can be changed. ( P. 5 2 3 )

2-4. Using other driving systems
If the steering neutral position is unknown
After the battery has been reconnected, the steering sensor will need to
be initialized. At this time, if the dual sensors detect an obstacle, the steer -
ing guide symbol and both arr
ows will be displayed.
Multi-information display
Touch screen
Use one of the following methods to initialize the steering sensor.
• With the vehicle stopped, turn the s teering wheel all the w
ay to the left,
then the right. (The order is not important.)
• Drive for more than 5 minutes on an un-cr
owded road with as few
curves and corners as possible.
If the steering guide symbol disappe ars, the steering sensor has been ini-
tialized. If the steering guide symbol does not disappear
, have the vehicle
checked by your Lexus dealer.
