To operate the headlights, turn the bar- rel on the end of the multi-function switch. The first position turns on the parking lights, sidelights, tail lights andinstrument panel lights. The second position turns on the headlights. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights.

MULTI-FUNCTION LIGHT SWITCH
B340A01A-AAT COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL, HEADLIGHT AND HIGH-BEAMSWITCHTurn Signal Operation Pulling down on the lever causes the turn signals on the left side of the car to blink. Pushing upwards on the levercauses the turn signals on the right side of the car to blink. As the turn is completed, the lever will automaticallyreturn to the center position and turn off the turn signals at the same time. If either turn signal indicator light blinksmore rapidly than usual, goes on but does not blink, or does not go on at all, there is a malfunction in the system.Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb or see your Hyundai dealer.

Replacing a Fusible Link
A fusible link will melt if the electrical
circuits from the battery are ever over- loaded, thus preventing damage to the entire wiring harness. (This could be caused by a short in the systemdrawing too much current.) If this ever happens, have a Hyundai dealer determine the cause, repair the sys-tem and replace the fusible link. The fusible links are located in a fuse box for easy inspection. Good

CAUTION:
When replacing a fusible link, neveruse anything but a new fusible link with the same or lower amper- age rating. Never use a piece ofwire or a higher-rated fusible link. This could result in serious dam- age and create a fire hazard.

At the scheduled maintenance inspec-
tion, belts should be examined for cracks, wear, fraying or other evi- dence of deterioration and replaced if necessary.
Belt routing should also be checked
to be sure there is no interferencebetween the belts and other parts ofthe engine.
The fuse box for the lights and other
electrical accessories will be found inthe backside of the multi box located on the instrument panel to the left side of the driver.

CAUTION:
When installing a container of liquid air freshener inside a vehicle, do not place it near the instrument cluster nor on the instrument panel pad surface. If there is any leakage from the air freshener onto these areas (instrument cluster, instrument panel pad or air ventilator), it may damage these parts. If the liquid from the air freshener does leak onto these areas, wash them with water immediately.

CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with the pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on theinstrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the"ON" position and then it should turn off.
o If the pre-tensioner seat belt is not
working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if the SRS system is not functioning. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the igni-tion key is turned to "ON", or if it remains illuminated after blinking for approximately 6 seconds, or ifit illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, please have an Hyundai authorised repairer in-spect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon as possible. WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti- vation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, ofany type, should always be re- placed after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem- bly mechanisms become hot dur-ing activation. Do not touch thepre-tensioner seat belt assemblies for several minutes after they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re-
place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by an Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or repair
the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner. o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, replace, service or repair the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operation or inadvertentactivation and serious injury.
o Always wear the seat belts when
driving or travelling in a motorvehicle.

CONTROLS AND EQUIPMENT

The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will blinkfor approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" posi- tion or after the engine is started, afterwhich the SRI should go out. The airbag modules are located both in the centre of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects a considerable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa- rate under pressure from the expansion of the airbags. Further opening of thecovers then allows full inflation of the airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slows the driver's or the passenger's forward mo- tion, thus reducing the risk of head or chest injury. After complete inflation, the airbag im- mediately starts deflating, enabling thedriver to maintain forward visibility.
!
CAUTION:
Do not install or place any accesso- ries (drink holder, cassette holder, sticker, etc) on the front passenger's panel above the glove box in a ve-hicle with passenger's side air bag. Such objects may become danger- ous projectiles and cause injury ifthe passenger's side air bag inflates.

!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout the vehicle. These conditions are nor-mal and are not hazardous. How- ever, the fine dust generated dur- ing airbag deployment may causeskin irritation. Be sure to wash your hands and face thoroughly with lukewarm water and a mildsoap after an accident in which the airbags were deployed.
o The SRS can function only when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. If the SRS SRI does notcome on, or continuously remains on, after flashing for about 6 sec- onds when the ignition key isturned to the "ON" position, or after the engine is started, or comes on whilst driving, the SRS is notworking properly. If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately in- spected by your Hyundaiauthorised repairer.!

CAUTION:
When installing a container of liquid air freshener inside a vehicle, do not place it near the instrument cluster not on the instrument panel pad surface. If the liquid from the air freshener does leak onto these ar- eas, wash them with water immedi- ately. o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace theair bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warningwill cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate.
