B070A01A-EAT ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM (Not all models) This system is designed to provide protection from unauthorized entry intothe car. This system is operated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the second is the "Alarm" stage,and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. If triggered, the system provides an au- dible alarm with blinking of the turnsignal lights. Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described below.
1) Remove the ignition key from the
ignition switch.
2) Make sure that the engine bonnet ,
doors and hatchback door are closed.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter
of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once toindicate that the system is armed.

B070B01O-EAT Armed Stage
o When the door is unlocked, the
red mark on the switch is visible and the character "LOCK" on theswitch is visible.
o The central door locking is oper-
ated by turning the key (with theft-alarm system: driver's door and passenger's door, without theft- alarm system: driver's door only)toward the front or rear of the vehicle.
o If the door is locked/unlocked mul- tiple times in rapid successionwith either the vehicle key or door lock switch, the system may stopoperating temporarily in order to protect the circuit and prevent damage to system components.

The central door locking is operated by pushing the driver's door lock switch toward the front or rear of the vehicle. Ifthe passenger and rear doors are open when the switch is pushed, the door will remain locked when closed. NOTE:
o When pushing the switch toward the rear, all doors and tail gate will unlock.When pushing the switch toward the front, all doors and tail gate will lock.

NOTE:
1) If any door, hatchback door or
engine bonnet remains open, the system will not be armed.
2) If this happens, rearm the system as described above.
! CAUTION:
Do not arm the system until all pas- sengers have left the car. If the sys- tem is armed while a passenger(s)remains in the car, the alarm may be activated when the remaining passenger(s) leaves the car.

B070D02TB-EAT Disarmed Stage
B070C02FC-EATAlarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any of the following occurs while the car is parked and the system is armed.
1) A front or rear door is unlocked and opened without using the transmit- ter.
2) The hatchback door is opened with- out using the transmitter.
3) The engine bonnet is opened. The system will be disarmed when thedriver's or passenger's door is un-locked by depressing the button on the transmitter. After completion of the step above, the turn signal lights will blink twice to indicate that the system is disarmed.
The alarming horn will sound and the turn signal lights will blink continuously for approximately 27 seconds. To turnoff the system, unlock the door or hatchback door with the transmitter.
NOTE: When the vehicle is unlocked using the unlock button on the remote, but the doors, bonnet or boot are notopened within 30 seconds, the doors will relock and the system will re- arm.

CAUTION:
Only the transmitter can disarm the armed stage. If the transmitter does not disarm the system, it is neces- sary to take the following steps;
1. Unlock the door with the key, which will cause, the alarm to be activated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "ON" position.
3. Wait for 30 seconds. After completing the step above, the system will be disarmed.

ABS SERVICE REMINDER INDICATOR(SRI) (Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in aapproimately seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key isturned to the "ON" position, this indi- cates that there may be a problem with the ABS.If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor-mal braking system will still be opera- tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system. SB210E1-E
OVERDRIVE OFF INDI CATORLIGHT(Not all models)
When the overdrive (4th gear) switch is turned off and the operation of overdrive (4th gear) is cancelled, the overdrivewarning light (O/D OFF) will be illumi- nated. When the switch is at the on position, the gearbox will operate in thenormal fully automatic mode and the warning light will be extinguished. B260D01A-AAT
Turn Signal Indicator Lights
The blinking green arrows on the instru- ment panel show the direction indicated by the turn signals. If the arrow comeson but does not blink, blinks more rapidly than normal, or does not illumi- nate at all, a malfunction in the turnsignal system is indicated. Your Hyundai authorised repairerer should be consulted for repairers.
WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and ParkingBrake/Brake fluid level warning lights remain "ON" or come on while driv- ing, there may be a problem withE.B.D (Electronic brake force distri- bution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stopsand have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible.

The high beam indicator light will illumi- nate whenever the headlights are switched to high beam of flash position.

IMMOBILISER
INDICATOR LIGHT(Not all models)
This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position. At this time, youcan start the engine. The light goes out after the engine is running. In case this light goes out before you start the en-gine, you must turn to the "LOCK" position and restart the engine. In case this light blinks for five seconds whenthe ignition key is turned to "ON" posi- tion, this indicates that the immobiliser system is out of order. At this time,consult to the Hyundai authorised re- pairer.B260S01B-GAT DIESEL PRE-HEAT INDICATORLIGHT-AMBER(Diesel Engine)
The indicator light illuminates amber when the ignition switch is placed at the "ON" position. The engine can be started after the pre-heat indicator lightgoes off. The illuminating time varies with the water temperature, air tem- perature and battery condition. NOTE: If the engine were not started 10 seconds after the preheating is com-pleted, turn the ignition key once more to the "LOCK" position, and then to the "ON" position, in orderto preheat again.B265C01LZ-EAT ELECTRONIC STABIL-
ITY PROGRAM INDICA-TOR LIGHTS(NOT ALL MODELS)
The electronic stability program indica- tors change operation according to the ignition switch position and whether the system is in operation or not.They will illuminate when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position, but should go out after three seconds. If theESP or ESP-OFF indicator stays on, take your car to your Hyundai authorised repairer and have the system checked.See section 2 for more information about the ESP.

If the red indicator illuminates, pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Then open the bonnetand check the coolant level (See "If the engine overheats" on the page 3-4.) and the water pump drive belt. If you sus-pect cooling system trouble, have your cooling system checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. NOTE: If the red engine temperature indica- tor illuminates, it indicates overheat-ing that may damage the engine.

FUEL FILTER WARNING LIGHT-RED(Diesel Engine)
This light illuminates when the engine has started and go off after a approimately seconds. If it lights upwhile the engine is running, it indicates that water has accumulated inside the fuel filter. Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The engine coolantis under pressure and could erupt and cause severe burns. Wait until the engine is cool before removingthe radiator cap.

These indicators show the temperature of the engine coolant when the ignition switch is ON. Red indicator illuminatesif the temperature of the engine coolant is above 120±3°C (248±37.4°F). Blue indicator Illuminates if the tem-perature of the engine coolant is below 60±3°C (140±37.4°F).

SB210S1-E BRAKE PAD WEAR INDICATOR The front brake disc pads are fitted with an audible wear indicator which will cause a high pitched noise to be emit- ted when the remaining amount of fric-tion lining is below the specified value. When the wear indicator is heard, the brake pads should be replaced withoutdelay to avoid damage occurring to the brake discs and a severe reduction in braking efficiency.
B900A01A-EAT ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND (Not all models) The acoustic warning chime sounds when the tail lights are on and the door in driver side is open. This prevents thebattery from discharging when the car is left with the tail lights on. The chime sounds until the tail lights are turned off.
The needle on the gauge indicates the approximate fuel level in the fuel tank.The fuel capacity is given in Section 9.

SB220A1-E MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH Turn Signal Operation To signal an intention to turn right, the switch lever should be pressed down. To signal an intention to turn left, theswitch lever should be pushed upwards. In both instances, the turn signal lights and the instrument cluster warning lightwill flash. Upon completion of the ma- noeuvre, the lever will, under normal circumstances, return to the "Off" posi-tion. However, if the manoeuvre in- volved only a small movement of the steering wheel, the signal may need tobe cancelled manually. If either turn signal indicator flashes more rapidly than normal or refuses to flash at all, amalfunction of the turn signal system may exist. SB220B1-E Lane Change Signal To indicate an intention to change lanes, moving the lever slightly towards the direction of the relevant turn signal willcause the turn signal lights to flash. When the lever is released, it will return to the "off" position.

4. Drive Distance
o This mode indicates the drive dis-
tance travelled since the last drive time reset.
o Pressing the trip computer switch for more than 1 second, when thedrive distance is being displayed,clears the drive distance to zero.

B340C03FC-EAT LIGHTING SWITCH
The vehicle side lights and headlights are operated by rotating the end of the turn signal switch barrel. To operate theside lights, rotating the switch to the first detent with ignition switch at the "OFF" position will cause the lights toilluminate. To operate the headlights, the turn signal switch barrel should be rotated to the second detent. The head-lights will only operate when the ignition switch is at the "On" position. If the ignition switch is turned to the "Off"position, only the side lights will func- tion. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights. Side light auto cut (Not all models) If you do not turn the side lights "OFF" after driving, the side light will automati- cally shut "OFF" when the driver's dooris opened. To turn them "ON" again you must simply turn the ignition key to the "ON"position. SB220D1-E HIGH AND LOW BEAM To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away from you). For low beams, pull the lever back (toward you). The appropriate headlightbeam indicator light will come on at the same time.
SB220E1-E HEADLIGHT FLASH The headlights may be flashed by pull- ing the turn signal switch lever towards the steering wheel. The headlights willbe extinguished when the switch is released.
