o When using the rear seat centre belt, you must lock all metal tabs and buckles. If any metal tab or buckle is not locked, it will in-crease the chance of injury in the event of collision.
o Never unlock the metal tab (a) and
the buckle (b) with the followingexceptions.(1)In case of folding rear seatbacks down.
(2)If transporting an object on the
rear seat may cause damage to the rear seat centre belt.
o Lock the metal tab (a) and the
buckle (b) immediately after fold-ing rear seatbacks up.

1. Before fastening the rear seat centre belt, confirm the metal tab (a) and buckle (b) are latched together.
2. After confirming that (a) and (b) are latched, pull the seat belt out of theretractor and insert the metal tab (c) into the buckle (d). B220D01TB
There will be an audible "click" when thetab locks in the buckle. The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap belt is adjusted manu-ally so that it fits snugly around your hips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let youmove around. If there is a sudden stop or impact, the belt will lock into position. It will also lock if you try to lean forwardtoo quickly.

!WARNING:
o Do not install a child restraint seat at the center of the rear seat using the vehicle's ISOFIX anchors. The ISOFIX anchors are only provided for the left and right outboard rearseating positions. Do not misuse the ISOFIX anchors by attempting to attach a child restraint seat inthe middle of the rear seat to the ISOFIX anchors. In a crash, the child restraint seat ISOFIX attach-ments may not be strong enough to secure the child restraint seat properly in the center of the rear seat and may break, causing seri- ous injury or death.
o When using the vehicle’s “ISOFIX” system to install a child restraintsystem in the rear seat, all unusedvehicle rear seat belt metal latch plates or tabs must be latched securely in their seat belt bucklesand the seat belt webbing must be retracted behind the child restraint to prevent the child from reachingand taking hold of unretracted seat belts.

1. To engage the child restraint seat to the ISOFIX anchor, insert the child restraint seat latch into the ISOFIX anchor. Listen for the audible "click"sound.
2. Connect the tether strap hook to the
child restraint hook holder and tightento secure the seat. Refer to "Secur- ing a Child Restraint System with the Tether Anchorage System" on page1-29.
To secure the child restraint seat
o Do not mount more than one child
restraint to a child restraint lower anchorage point. The improper increased load may cause the an- chorage points or tether anchor tobreak, causing serious injury or death.
o Attach the ISOFIX or ISOFIX-com-
patible child restraint seat only tothe appropriate locations shown in the illustration.
o Always follow the installation and use instructions provided by themanufacturer of the child restraint.

ABS SERVICE REMINDER INDICATOR(SRI) (Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in aapproimately seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key isturned to the "ON" position, this indi- cates that there may be a problem with the ABS.If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor-mal braking system will still be opera- tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system. SB210E1-E
OVERDRIVE OFF INDI CATORLIGHT(Not all models)
When the overdrive (4th gear) switch is turned off and the operation of overdrive (4th gear) is cancelled, the overdrivewarning light (O/D OFF) will be illumi- nated. When the switch is at the on position, the gearbox will operate in thenormal fully automatic mode and the warning light will be extinguished. B260D01A-AAT
Turn Signal Indicator Lights
The blinking green arrows on the instru- ment panel show the direction indicated by the turn signals. If the arrow comeson but does not blink, blinks more rapidly than normal, or does not illumi- nate at all, a malfunction in the turnsignal system is indicated. Your Hyundai authorised repairerer should be consulted for repairers.
WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and ParkingBrake/Brake fluid level warning lights remain "ON" or come on while driv- ing, there may be a problem withE.B.D (Electronic brake force distri- bution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stopsand have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible.

ABS will not prevent accidents due to improper or dangerous driving maneuvers. Even though vehicle control is improved during emer-gency braking, always maintain a safe distance between you and ob- jects ahead. Vehicle speeds shouldalways be reduced during extreme road conditions. The braking distance for carsequipped with an anti-lock braking system may be longer than for those without it in the following road con- ditions.
o Driving on rough, gravel or snow- covered roads.
o Driving with tyre chains installed.
o Driving on roads where the road surface is pitted or has differentsurface height.
These roads should be driven atreduced speeds. The safety featuresof an ABS equipped vehicle should not be tested by high speed driving or cornering. This could endangerthe safety of yourself or others.
SC140B2-E ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (Not all models) The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking or on hazard-ous road surfaces. The ABS control module monitors the wheel speed and controls the pressure applied to eachbrake. Thus, in emergency situations or on slick roads, ABS will increase vehicle control during braking. NOTE:
o A click sound may be heard in the
engine compartment when the ve- hicle begins to move after the en- gine is started. These conditions are normal and indicate that theanti-lock brake system (Electronic Stability Program) is functioning properly.
o During ABS operation, a slight pulsation may be felt in the brakepedal when the brakes are ap-plied. Also, a noise may be heard in the engine compartment whilst braking. These conditions arenormal and indicate that the anti- lock brake system is functioning properly.
C310A01JM-EAT ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP)(Not all models) The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system is designed to stabilize the vehicle during cornering manuevers.ESP checks where you are steering and where the vehicle is actually going. ESP applies the brakes at individualwheels and intervenes in the engine management system to stabilize the vehicle. SE040A2-E VALETING Regular cleaning of the exterior paintwork serves two important func-tions. Firstly, the removal of abrasive dirt and contaminants will maintain the lustre of the paintwork and will preventdiscolouration and dulling due to pro- longed contact. Secondly, the presence of damagethrough impact or abrasion will be ap- parent allowing early rectification to be made thus preventing corrosion frombecoming established and spreading beneath the paint film. To avoid "water spotting" the vehicle should not bewashed in direct sunlight particularly in the case of vehicles having dark body colours. The heat from the sun rays isabsorbed by the paint film increasing the surface temperature. This action causes water used for washing toevaporate quickly leaving behind the deposits from the water and the sham- poo used.Use only a shampoo intended for the purpose and ensure that the body work is thoroughly wet to soften the dirt filmprior to attempting to remove this. After removing the dirt film with a soft sponge, the body work should be thor- oughly rinsed and then dried with agood quality chamois leather to pre- vent streaking or spotting of the paint work.Household detergents, solvents and abrasive cleaning materials should not be used in order to avoid damaging thepaint film. Plastic wheel covers should be cleaned using a sponge and water. Cast alloywheels should be cleaned using a mild soap or neutral detergent. Abrasive compounds must not be used since inthe event of these damaging the lac- quer coating, oxidization of the alu- minium wheel will occur, spoiling theappearance. The use of a toothbrush will facilitate cleaning between the wheel "spokes".
