1Non Serviceable Part. The air filter is designed to last the life of the
vehicle. See authorized dealer or qualified technician for replacement.
The Technician can check the diagnostics system for the possibility of an
excessively dirty air filter.
2The PCV valve is a critical emission component. It is one of the items
listed inscheduled maintenance informationand is essential to the
life and performance of your vehicle and to its emissions system.
For PCV valve replacement, see your authorized dealer. Refer to
scheduled maintenance informationfor the appropriate intervals for
changing the PCV valve.
Replace the PCV valve with one that meets Ford material and
design specifications for your vehicle, such as a Motorcraft or
equivalent replacement part. The customer warranty may be void
for any damage to the emissions system if such a PCV valve is not
used.
3For spark plug replacement, see your authorized dealer. Refer to
scheduled maintenance informationfor the appropriate intervals for
changing the spark plugs.
Replace the spark plugs with ones that meet Ford material and

4Only use the specified replacement oil filter. The use of a non-specified
oil filter can result in engine damage.

1Approximate dry fill capacity including transmission fluid cooling system, actual refill capacities
will vary based on vehicle application and transmission fluid cooling system (i.e. coolers size,
cooling lines, auxiliary cooler capacities). The amount of transmission fluid and fluid level should
be set by the indication on the dipstick’s normal operating range.
The manual transmission service refill capacity is determined by filling the transaxle to the bottom
of the filler hole with the vehicle on a level surface.2Ensure the correct automatic transmission fluid is used. Transmission fluid requirements are
indicated on the dipstick or on the dipstick handle or as listed in this Owner’s Guide. Check the
container to verify the fluid being added is of the correct type. Refer to yourscheduled
maintenance informationto determine the correct service interval.
Some transmission fluids may be labeled as dual usage, such as MERCON
and MERCON
V.
These dual usage fluids are not to be used in an automatic transmission that requires use of the
MERCON
type fluid. However, these dual usage fluids may be used in transmissions that require
the MERCON
V type fluid.
MERCON
and MERCON
V type fluids are not interchangeable. DO NOT mix MERCON

and MERCON
V. Use of a transmission fluid that indicates dual usage (MERCON
and
MERCON
V) in an automatic transmission application requiring MERCON
may cause
transmission damage. Use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause
transmission damage.3Use of synthetic or synthetic blend motor oil is not mandatory. Engine oil need only meet the
requirements of Ford specification WSS-M2C930-A and the API Certification mark.4Add the coolant type originally equipped in your vehicle.
