REARVIEW MIRRORS
DRIVING MIRROR
The mirror is fitted with a safety device that causes it to be released in
the event of a violent crash.
Use lever (A) to move it to two different positions: normal or antiglare.
F0H0056m
CHILD’S WATCH MIRROR (where provided)
It is located on roof longitudinal console, near the front ceiling light to
give the driver and front passenger a wide view of rear seats and
therefore to watch rear passengers (children).
To use this mirror, move it from retracted position (B) to position (C) as
shown in the figure.
F0H0057m
SMOKER’S KIT (where provided)
Cigar lighter
It is located on the central console, at the side of the handbrake lever.
With the ignition key at MAR, press the button; after about 15 seconds
the button will return to its initial position and ready for use.
IMPORTANT Always check that the cigar lighter has turned off.
Ashtray
It consists of a removable plastic container with spring opening which can
be positioned in the glass/can holder located on the central console.
IMPORTANT Do not use the ashtray as waste paper basket: it might set
on fire in contact with cigarette stubs.
SUN VISORS
These are positioned to the sides of the rear-view mirror. They can
swing to the sides and up or down.
According to versions, the back of the sun visor can be fitted with a
courtesy mirror. Open the sliding wing (A) (where provided), to use the
mirror.

TOWING TRAILERS
IMPORTANT NOTES
For towing caravans or trailers the car must be fitted
with a certified tow hook and an adequate electric
system. Installation should be carried out by
specialised personnel who release a special document
for circulation on the road.
Install any specific and/or additional rear-view mirrors
as specified by law.
Remember that when towing a trailer, steep hills are
harder to climb, the braking spaces increase and
overtaking takes longer depending on the overall
weight.
Engage a low gear when driving downhill, rather than
constantly using the brake. The weight the trailer exerts on the car tow hook
reduces by the same amount the actual vehicle loading
capacity. To make sure the maximum towable weight
is not exceeded (given in the log book) account should
be taken of the fully laden trailer, including accessories
and personal belongings.
Do not exceed the speed limits of the country you are
driving in. In any case do not exceed 100 km/h.

WARNING
Under no circumstances should the vehicle brake system be altered to control the
trailer brake. The trailer braking system must be fully independent of the vehicle’s
hydraulic system.WARNING
The ABS system with which the car may be fitted does not control the trailer
braking system. Great care should therefore be taken when driving on slippery
road surfaces.
