Battery
Your vehicle has a maintenance free battery.
When it is time for a new battery, get one that has
the replacement number shown on the original
battery’s label. We recommend an ACDelco
®
replacement battery.
Warning:Battery posts, terminals, and related
accessories contain lead and lead compounds,
chemicals known to the State of California
to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Wash
hands after handling.
The battery is located under the rear seat cushion.
To access the battery, seeRear Underseat
Fuse Block on page 455. You do not need to
access the battery to jump start your vehicle. See
Jump Starting on page 392.
{CAUTION:
A battery that is not properly vented can
let sulfuric acid fumes into the area under
the rear seat cushion. These fumes can
damage your rear seat safety belt
systems. You may not be able to see this
damage, and the safety belts might not
provide the protection needed in a crash.
If a replacement battery is ever needed, it
must be vented in the same manner as
the original battery. Always make sure
that the vent hose is properly reattached
before reinstalling the seat cushion.

Bulb Replacement
It is recommended that all bulbs be replaced by
your dealer.
High Intensity Discharge (HID)
Lighting
{CAUTION:
The low beam high intensity discharge
lighting system operates at a very high
voltage. If you try to service any of the
system components, you could be
seriously injured. Have your dealer or a
quali ed technician service them.
Your vehicle has HID headlamps. After your
vehicle’s HID headlamp bulb has been replaced,
you may notice that the beam is a slightly different
shade than it was originally. This is normal.
Windshield Wiper Blade
Replacement
Windshield wiper blades should be inspected for
wear or cracking. SeeScheduled Maintenance
on page 465for more information on wiper blade
inspection.
Replacement blades come in different types and
are removed in different ways. Here’s how to
remove the wiper blade:
1. Turn the engine off.
2. Lift the windshield wiper arm and blade away
from the windshield.
3. Pull the clip up from the blade connecting point,
and pull the blade assembly down toward the
windshield to remove it from the wiper arm.
