As a safety feature, your vehicle has
a release lever on the trunk latch so
the trunk can be opened from the
inside. To
open the trunk, push the release
lever to the left.
Parents should decide if their
children should be shown how to use
this feature.
For more information about child

To protect items in the trunk, you
can disable the trunk-release switch
on the trunk lid by turning of f the
trunk main switch in the glove box
and locking the glove box. Make
sure the rear seat is not f olded down.
If you need to give the key to
someone else, give them the valet
key.

The back of the rear seat folds down
to give you direct access to the trunk.
Each side f olds down separately.
With only half the seat f olded, you
can still carry a passenger in the
back seat. The seat-back can be
released f rom inside the vehicle or
inside the trunk.To f old down either side of the seat-
back f rom inside the vehicle, insert
the master key in the lock on the
rear shelf . To f old down the driver’s
side, turn the key clockwise, pull
down the top of the seat-back, then
release the key. To f old down the
passenger’s side, turn the key
counterclockwise and perf orm the
same procedure.
To remove a head restraint f or
cleaning or repair, pull it up as f ar as
it will go. Push the release button
and pull the restraint out of the seat-
back.

µIf the driver’s
window senses any obstacle while it
is closing automatically, it will
reverse direction, and then stop. To
close the window, remove the
obstacle, then use the window switch
again.
Auto reverse stops sensing when the
window is almost closed. You should
always check that all passengers and
objects are away from the window
bef ore closing it. If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, or the
driver’s window f use is removed, the
AUTO f unction may be disabled. If
the AUTO f unction is disabled, the
power window system will need to be
reset af ter reconnecting the battery
or installing the f use.
The power window system has a key-
of f delay f unction. The windows will
still operate f or up to 10 minutes
after you turn off the ignition switch.
Opening either f ront door cancels
the delay function. You must turn
the ignition switch to the ON (II)
position again bef ore you can raise
or lower the windows.
If the power windows do not operate
properly af ter resetting, have your
vehicle checked by your dealer. Pull and hold the driver’s window
switch to close the window
completely, then hold the switch
f or about 2 seconds. Start the engine. Push down and
hold the driver’s window switch
until the window is f ully open.

To open: You can open and close the windows
with the key in the driver’s door lock.Insert the key in the driver’s door
lock.
Turn the key clockwise, then
release it.
You can open all of the windows
from the outside with the remote
transmitter.
Press the UNLOCK button once
to unlock the driver’s door
(depending on the ‘‘DOOR LOCK
MODE’’ setting).
Press the UNLOCK button a
second time, and hold it. The
passenger’s doors unlock, and all
f our windows start to open. To
stop the windows, release the
button.
To open the windows further,
press the button again (within 10
seconds).
You cannot close the windows with
the remote transmitter. Turnthekeyclockwiseagain,and
hold it. All f our windows start to
open. To stop the windows,
release the key.
To open the windows f urther, turn

To tilt up the back of the moonroof ,
press and hold the center button
( ). To close the moonroof ,
press and hold the upper part of the
switch ( ). To open the
moonroof , press and hold the lower
part of the switch ( ). Release
the switch when the moonroof gets
to the desired position. Make sure
everyone’s hands are away f rom the
moonroof bef ore opening or closing
it.The moonroof has a key-of f delay
f unction. You can still open and close
the moonroof f or up to 10 minutes
after you turn off the ignition switch.
The key-of f delay f unction cancels as
soon as you open either f ront door.

The moonroof has two positions: it
can be tilted up in the back f or
ventilation, or it can be slid back into
the roof . Use the switch under the
lef t dashboard vent to operate the
moonroof . The ignition switch must

moonroof on someone’s hands
or fingers can cause serious
injury.
Make sure all hands and fingers
are clear of the moonroof
before opening or closing it. If you try to open the moonroof in
below-f reezing temperatures, or when
it is covered with snow or ice, you can
damage the moonroof panel or motor.

The rear ceiling light has a three-
position switch. In the OFF position,
the light does not come on. In the
Door Activated position, the ceiling
lightcomesonwhenyouopenany
door. After all doors are closed
tightly, the light fades out in about
30 seconds. In the ON position, the
ceiling light stays on continuously. The
front ceiling lights have a two-
position switch. In the Door
Acti vated position, the lights come
on when you open any door. In the
OFF position, the lights do not come
on. In
the Door Activated position, the
light comes on when you:
After all doors are closed tightly, the
light dims slightly, then fades out in
about 30 seconds.
Open
any door.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Unlock the doors with the key,
locktabonthedriver’sdoor,
master door lock switch, or
remote transmitter.
If you leave any door open without
the key in the ignition switch, the
ceiling light will go off after 3
minutes.
Turn on the front ceiling lights by
pushing the lens. Push the lens again
to turn if off. You can use these

The courtesy light between the
spotlights comes on when you turn
the parking lights on. To adjust its
brightness, turn the select/reset
knob on the instrument panel. The
courtesy lights in the front
doors and around the ignition switch
come on when you open any door,
remove key from the ignition switch,
or unlock the driver’s door.
