D e t a c h t h e w h e e l / h o l d e r a s s e m b l y
from the rear of the vehicle.
Take out the notched hook to
r e l e a s e t h e w h e e l , a s s h o w n i n
the illustration. Removing the wheel
Slide the holder cover to gain
access to the tools.
I f n e c e s s a r y , p l a c e a c h o c k u n d e r
t h e w h e e l d i a g o n a l l y o p p o s i t e t o
the one to be changed.
Remove the trim, using the
w h e e l b r a c e 1 , p u l l i n g a t t h e v a l v e
p a s s a g e h o l e ( f o r v e h i c l e s i t t e d
w i t h s t e e l w h e e l s ) .
L o o s e n t h e w h e e l b o l t s ( s e e §
" S p e c i a l f e a t u r e s o f a l l o y w h e e l s "
f o r v e h i c l e s i t t e d w i t h a l l o y
w h e e l s ) .
Note: you can use the other end
of the tool 6 t o u n s c r e w t h e w h e e l
bolts.
P l a c e t h e j a c k 4 i n c o n t a c t w i t h
o n e o f t h e f o u r l o c a t i n g p o i n t s A
o n t h e s u b - f r a m e , t h e o n e w h i c h
i s c l o s e s t t o t h e w h e e l t o b e
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 4 until its base
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d .
Ensure that the centre line of the
b a s e o f t h e j a c k i s s t r a i g h t a b o v e
t h e l o c a t i n g p o i n t A used.
Raise the vehicle
Remove one bolt and install the
centralising tool 5 i n i t s p l a c e .
U n s c r e w t h e o t h e r b o l t s a n d
r e m o v e t h e w h e e l .

Fitting a wheel
P o s i t i o n t h e w h e e l u s i n g t h e
centralising tool 5 to assist you.
Tighten the bolts by hand and
remove the centralising tool 5 .
Partly tighten the bolts using the
w h e e l b r a c e 1 .
F o l d t h e j a c k 4 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
w h e e l b r a c e 1 .
R e p l a c e t h e w h e e l t r i m , s t a r t i n g
b y p l a c i n g t h e w h e e l t r i m n o t c h
o p p o s i t e t h e v a l v e , a n d p r e s s i t
o n u s i n g t h e p a l m o f t h e h a n d .
P u t t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g t o o l s i n t h e
holder and secure its cover.
Place the holder on the ground
a n d a l i g n t h e s p a r e w h e e l o n i t .
Pass the notched hook into the
holder cover.
R e i t t h e w h e e l u n d e r t h e v e h i c l e
t i g h t e n i n g t h e w i n c h c o n t r o l n u t
u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1 .
Fully tighten and check that
t h e w h e e l i s h o r i z o n t a l l y l u s h
a g a i n s t t h e r e a r l o o r .
C l o s e t h e l a p u s i n g t h e l u g t o
l o c k t h e w i n c h .
Store the rest of the tools in the
r i g h t - h a n d t r i m o f t h e b o o t . For your safety, always
change the wheel:
- o n l e v e l , s t a b l e , n o n - s l i p p e r y ground,
- w i t h t h e h a n d b r a k e o n a n d t h e i g n i t i o n s w i t c h e d o f f ,
- w i t h i r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d ( p o s i t i o n P for the automatic
g e a r b o x ) ,
- w i t h t h e v e h i c l e c h o c k e d .
Never go underneath a vehicle that
is supported only by a jack (use a
ramp).
N e v e r r e i t t h e h o l d e r u n d e r t h e
vehicle without the spare wheel.
Do not use a screwdriver in place
of the wheelbrace to unwind or
wind the winch. Recommendations when using
the temporary spare wheel *
