After folding or moving a seat or rear
bench seat, ensure that the seat belt
i s p o s i t i o n e d a n d r o l l e d u p c o r r e c t l y .

T h e i n e r t i a r e e l s a r e i t t e d w i t h a n a u -
t o m a t i c l o c k i n g d e v i c e w h i c h c o m e s
i n t o o p e r a t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a c o l l i -
sion, on emergency braking or if the
vehicle rolls over. You can release
t h e d e v i c e b y p u l l i n g r a p i d l y o n t h e
s t r a p a n d r e l e a s i n g i t . Recommendations for children:

riousness of the impacts , t h e p r e -
tensioning device may be triggered
b e f o r e a n d i n d e p e n d e n t l y o f t h e a i r
b a g s . T r i g g e r i n g o f t h e p r e - t e n s i o n -
e r s i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a s l i g h t e m i s -
sion of harmless smoke and a noise,
d u e t o t h e a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e p y r o t e c h -
n i c c a r t r i d g e i n c o r p o r a t e d i n t h e s y s -
tem.
I n a l l c a s e s , t h e a i r b a g w a r n i n g l i g h t
comes on.

with the ignition off , insert the
k e y i n t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g
d i s a r m i n g s w i t c h 1 ,
turn it to the "OFF" p o s i t i o n ,
t h e n , r e m o v e t h e k e y k e e p i n g t h e
s w i t c h i n t h i s p o s i t i o n .
Activation
T h e a i r b a g s a r e t r i g g e r e d s i m u l t a n e -
o u s l y , u n l e s s t h e p a s s e n g e r ’ s f r o n t
air bag is disarmed, in the event of a
s e r i o u s f r o n t i m p a c t a p p l i e d t o a l l o r
p a r t o f t h e f r o n t i m p a c t z o n e A , in the
longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a h o r i z o n t a l p l a n e a n d d i r e c t e d f r o m
the front to the rear of the vehicle.
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n l a t e s b e t w e e n t h e
f r o n t o c c u p a n t o f t h e v e h i c l e a n d t h e
f a s c i a t o c u s h i o n h i s f o r w a r d m o v e -
ment. Deactivation
Front air bags

u n t i l t h e a i r b a g i s r e - a r m e d .
Reactivation
When you remove the child seat, turn
s w i t c h
1 to the "ON" p o s i t i o n t o r e -
arm the air bag and so guarantee the
s a f e t y o f y o u r f r o n t p a s s e n g e r i n t h e
e v e n t o f a n i m p a c t .
Operating fault
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s
o n o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
w a r n i n g a n d a m e s s a g e o n
t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s , c o n t a c t a
PEUGEOT dealer.
I f b o t h a i r b a g w a r n i n g l i g h t s
come on continuously, do not
install a "rear facing" child
s e a t o n t h e f r o n t p a s s e n g e r
seat.
