surfaces.

and rims), make sure that these are
a p p r o v e d .

i n t o o p e r a t i o n a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n
t h e r e i s a r i s k o f w h e e l l o c k .
EMERGENCY BRAKING
ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
I n a n e m e r g e n c y , t h i s s y s t e m e n a -
b l e s t h e o p t i m u m b r a k i n g p r e s s u r e t o
b e r e a c h e d m o r e q u i c k l y , t h u s r e d u c -
i n g t h e s t o p p i n g d i s t a n c e .
I t i s t r i g g e r e d b y t h e s p e e d a t w h i c h
t h e b r a k e p e d a l i s a c t i v a t e d . T h e
effect of this is a reduction in the
r e s i s t a n c e o f t h e p e d a l a n d a n
i n c r e a s e i n b r a k i n g e f i c i e n c y .
W h e n t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
c o m e s o n , a c c o m p a n i e d
b y a b u z z e r a n d a m e s -
sage, it indicates that there
is a malfunction of the ABS,
w h i c h c a n c a u s e a l o s s o f c o n t r o l o f
t h e v e h i c l e w h e n b r a k i n g . W h e n t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
comes on, connected to
the
STOP and ABS w a r n -
i n g l i g h t s , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
a buzzer and a message,
it indicates that there is a
malfunction of the electronic brake
f o r c e d i s t r i b u t i o n , w h i c h c a n c a u s e
a l o s s o f c o n t r o l o f t h e v e h i c l e w h e n
braking.
Stop immediately.
In both cases, consult a PEUGEOT
dealer.
N o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e A B S m a y
make itself felt by slight vibrations
o f t h e b r a k e p e d a l .
In emergency braking, press
v e r y i r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s i n g t h e
pressure.

Bolt covers
A l l o y w h e e l b o l t s a r e c o v e r e d b y
chrome trims.
U s e t h e y e l l o w t o o l 6 to remove the
trims before slackening the bolts. I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s i t t e d w i t h a s t e e l
s p a r e w h e e l , w h e n i t t i n g i t , i t i s
nor-
mal w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s t o n o -
t i c e t h a t t h e w a s h e r s d o n o t c o m e
i n t o c o n t a c t w i t h t h e r i m . T h e s p a r e
w h e e l i s s e c u r e d b y t h e c o n e s h a p e
of each bolt.
