FAMILIARISATION
Retractable roof Preliminary conditions

 Turn the ignition key to position M .

 Be absolutely certain that:
- the vehicle is not in "energy economy mode" (refer to the
corresponding section),
- the battery voltage is sufi cient (lighting of the indicator light on
the roof control button),
- the roof fuse is in good condition (refer to the corresponding
section),
- the electric windows are initialised (refer to the
corresponding section),
- the exterior temperature is higher than -20 °C.
It is advisable to operate the roof
with the engine running.
The roof may be operated at a
speed below 6 mph (10 km/h).
After washing the vehicle or
following rain, it is advisable to
wait until the roof has dried be-
fore opening it.
When operating the roof with
the engine off, if the "energy
economy mode" is activated
(message on the display) the
movement of the roof stops.
Start the engine to exit "energy
economy mode" and complete
the movement.
You are strongly advised not
to operate the roof in strong
winds.
When washing your vehicle:
- do not forget to lock it to
avoid any risk of automatic
partial opening of the
windows,
- avoid spraying the upper part of the windows,
- keep the end of the high-pressure nozzle at
least 1 metre from the
windows and door seals.
Operation of the roof is the sole
responsibility of the driver.
When opening and closing the
roof, to avoid any risk of injury,
ensure that no one is in the vicin-
ity of the moving parts.
Precautions to be taken before
operating the roof

 Park the vehicle on level ground.

 Check that no object could
hinder the operation of the roof:
- nothing should be placed on the moving rear shelf 1 , on the
boot screen 2 or on or near the
hinged covers 3 ,
- if luggage is transported in the boot, this must not raise the
boot screen,
- any object, such as a jacket or umbrella, placed in the boot,
must be retained by the lugga-
ge retaining net 4 .

 Ensure that the boot screen 2 is
secured correctly.

 Close the boot correctly.

LOCATION OF CHILD SEATS SECURED USING THE SEAT BELT

U: seat suited to the installation of a
child seat which is secured using the
seat belt and "universally" approved,
"rearwards facing" and/or "forwards
facing".

U (R): idem U , with the vehicle’s seat
adjusted to the highest position.
(a) Universal child seat: child seat
which can be installed in all vehi-
cles using the seat belt.
(b) Group 0: from birth to 10 kg.
(c) Consult the current legislation in your country before installing
your child on this seat. For the
L4 "RECARO Start" seat, in-
stalled on the front passenger seat,
with groups 2 and 3, adjust the vehi-
cle’s seat to the intermediate longitu-
dinal position.
For the L5 "KLIPPAN Optima" seat,
installed on the rear side seat, with
group 3, use the booster cushion
only.

INTERIOR LAYOUT
When i tting the mat for the i rst time,
use only the i xings supplied in the
wallet attached.
When removing the mat on the
driver’s side:
- push the seat as far back as possible,
- unscrew the i xings fully,
- remove the i xings, then the mat.
* With colour screen only.
FITTING/REMOVING THE MAT
When rei tting, position the mat
correctly and replace the i xings
by pressing them in.
Ensure that the mat is secured
correctly.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- only use mats which are suited to the i xings already present
in the vehicle. It is imperative
that these i xings are used.
- never i t one mat on top of another.

1. Glove box with cooling facility
This is i tted with a lock.
To open the glove box, lift the
handle.
The glove box lights when the lid is
opened.
It has a ventilation nozzle that
can be closed A , distributing the
same cooled air as the vents of the
passenger compartment.
It contains three sockets * B for
connecting video equipment.
It has a i rst aid kit (according to
country, it may be located in the
boot) and storage compartments for
a pen, the vehicle handbook, a pair
of spectacles, tokens, etc.
2. Front ashtray
Pull the lid to open the ashtray.
To empty it after opening, press the
tab and remove the ashtray.

4. 12 volt socket (100 W max)
This is a lighter type socket, i tted
with a cap.
It is supplied with current from the
running position.

To empty this, open it fully (past the

1. Stowing rings
Use the stowing rings located on the
boot l oor and on the boot rear inner
panel to secure your luggage.
2. Luggage retaining net
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this
enables your luggage to be secured.
3. 12 volt socket (100 W max)
This is a lighter type socket, installed
on the boot side trim on the left-hand
side.
It is supplied from the "Running"
position.
4. Signalling triangle *
Two elastic straps permit the securing
of a signalling triangle.

CHECKS
Lift the catch and raise the bonnet.
Bonnet strut
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL
(DIESEL)
If you should run out of fuel, it is
ne-cessary to re-prime the circuit.
The repriming pump and the degas
screw are located under the bonnet
(see corresponding drawing):
2 litre 16V HDI engine
- i ll the fuel tank with at least i ve litres of diesel,
- unclip the style cover to gain access to the repriming pump,
- unscrew the degas screw,
- squeeze and release the manual repriming pump until diesel is
seen escaping via the degas
screw,
- retighten the degas screw,
- operate the starter until the engine starts.
From inside
Tilt the handle on the left-hand side
under the fascia to the right.
From outside Secure the strut
to hold the bon-
net open.
Before closing
the bonnet, re-
place the strut in
its housing.
To close
Lower the bonnet and release it at
the end of its travel.
Check that the bonnet is properly
locked.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
In the engine compartment, on the
right-hand side, remove the style trim * :
- press the centre of each plastic stud A ,
- remove each plastic stud,
- remove the style trim.
When you have i nished, do not
forget to put everything back in place
correctly:
- position the style trim * ,
-
rei t each plastic stud A by pressing
on it.
1. Dipped beam headlamps
(H1-55 W or xenon bulb).
WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRO-
CUTION
Xenon bulbs must be changed by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
2. Main beam headlamps
(H7-55 W).

 Remove the protective cover
corresponding to the faulty bulb.

 Disconnect the connector.

 Press the end of each securing
clip. Change the bulb.
When i tting the new bulb, ensure
that the direction notches are po-
sitioned correctly and the securing
clips are i xed properly.
 Reconnect the connector.

 Rei t the protective cover.
CHANGING A BULB
Front lights
Handle the bulbs with a dry cloth.
The headlamps are i tted with
polycarbonate glass with a pro-
tective coating. Do not clean
them with a dry or abrasive
cloth, nor with a detergent or
solvent product.
Use a sponge and soapy water.
