SAFETY
AIR BAGS
The air bags have been designed to
m a x i m i s e t h e s a f e t y o f t h e o c c u p a n t s
in the event of violent collisions. They
s u p p l e m e n t t h e a c t i o n o f t h e f o r c e -
limiting seat belts.
In this case, the electronic detectors
record and analyse the front and side
i m p a c t s s u f f e r e d i n t h e i m p a c t d e t e c -
t i o n z o n e s :
- i n t h e e v e n t o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t , t h e a i r b a g s a r e d e p l o y e d i n s t a n -
t a n e o u s l y a n d p r o t e c t t h e o c c u -
p a n t s o f t h e v e h i c l e ; i m m e d i a t e l y
a f t e r t h e i m p a c t , t h e a i r b a g s d e -
l a t e r a p i d l y s o t h a t t h e y d o n o t

t e c h n i c c a r t r i d g e i n c o r p o r a t e d
in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but
s e n s i t i v e i n d i v i d u a l s m a y e x -
p e r i e n c e s o m e i r r i t a t i o n .
The noise of the detonation
may result in a slight loss of

g e r i n g o f t h e p r e - t e n s i o n e r s i s
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a s l i g h t d i s -
charge of harmless smoke and
a noise, due to the activation of
t h e p y r o t e c h n i c c a r t r i d g e i n c o r -
p o r a t e d i n t h e s y s t e m .
I n a l l c a s e s , t h e a i r b a g w a r n i n g
light comes on.
F o l l o w i n g a n i m p a c t , h a v e t h e
seat belts system checked,
a n d i f n e c e s s a r y r e p l a c e d , b y a
PEUGEOT dealer.
The air bags do not operate
when the ignition is off.

o n c e . I f a s e c o n d i m p a c t o c c u r s
( d u r i n g t h e s a m e o r a s u b s e -
q u e n t a c c i d e n t ) , t h e a i r b a g w i l l

2. Main beam headlamps (H7-55 W).
R e m o v e t h e p r o t e c t i v e c o v e r c o r -
r e s p o n d i n g t o t h e f a u l t y b u l b .
Disconnect the connector.
Press the end of each securing
c l i p . C h a n g e t h e b u l b .
W h e n i t t i n g t h e n e w b u l b , e n s u r e
t h a t t h e d i r e c t i o n n o t c h e s a r e p o -
sitioned correctly and the securing
c l i p s a r e i x e d p r o p e r l y .
Reconnect the connector.
R e i t t h e p r o t e c t i v e c o v e r .
CHANGING A BULB
Front lights
H a n d l e t h e b u l b s w i t h a d r y c l o t h .
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e i t t e d w i t h
p o l y c a r b o n a t e g l a s s w i t h a p r o -
tective coating. Do not clean
them with a dry or abrasive
cloth, nor with a detergent or
solvent product.
U s e a s p o n g e a n d s o a p y w a t e r .

P u s h t h e r e p e a t e r f o r w a r d s a n d
release it.
R e m o v e t h e r e p e a t e r a n d c h a n g e i t .
These can be obtained from a PEUGEOT
dealer.
3 Side lights (W 5 W).
R e m o v e t h e p r o t e c t i v e c o v e r c o r -
r e s p o n d i n g t o t h e f a u l t y b u l b .
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the bulb and change it.
4. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber).
T u r n t h e b u l b h o l d e r a q u a r t e r o f
a turn and remove it.
Change the bulb.
Note : i n c e r t a i n c l i m a t i c c o n d i t i o n s
( l o w t e m p e r a t u r e , h u m i d i t y ) , conden-
sation inside the headlamp glass is
normal ; i t d i s a p p e a r s a f e w m i n u t e s
a f t e r t h e l i g h t s a r e s w i t c h e d o n . Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
these bulbs changed.
5. Fog lamps (H11-55 W). Integrated direction indicator side
repeaters.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
r e p l a c e d w i t h b u l b s o f i d e n t i c a l
s p e c i i c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r .

b o o k p o c k e t ) .
R e m o v e t h e l i g h t i x i n g n u t i n s i d e
the boot.
Remove the light.
U n s c r e w t h e b u l b h o l d e r 5 a q u a r -
ter of a turn.
Remove the bulb holder.
Change the faulty bulb.
Note: w h e n r e i t t i n g , t a k e c a r e t o p o -
sition the bulb holder and the light
correctly.
