It is essential to install a CITROËN approved e l e c t r o n i c u n i t w h e n h a v i n g a t o w b a r fi t t e d , in order to prevent any risk of malfunction o r d a m a g e ( r i s k o f fi r e ) .
If you are towing another vehicle, the latter must be free-wheeling (gearbox in neutral).
Do not exceed the maximum permitted load.
For the maximum distributed load on the roof bars: see the chapter “General”.
Towing (Boat, caravan, etc.)
If you are climbing a steep gradient and the engine gets excessively hot, certain functions become unavailable (e.g. sequential control of the automatic gearbox, the air conditioning).
If you are towing with a device not approved by the CITROËN network, you must deactivate parking assistance usi ng the button on the dashboard. See “Parking assistance”.
It is recommended that you remove the towing ball, so that it does not interfere with the functioning of the prox-imity sensors, when you are not using a trailer.
Roof bars
For your safety and to avoid damage to the roof, you should use roof bars that are tested and approved by AUTOMOBILES CITROËN for the design of your par-should use roof bars that are tested and approved by bars that are

Recommendations:Spread the load evenly, avoiding overloading on one side.
Position the heaviest weight as low down as pos-sible.Tie the load down securely and add warning signs if it is protruding.

The stability of your vehicle may be altered.Remove the roof rack or roof bars when you are not using them.

Puncture kit
The puncture repair kit is located in the boot.
The puncture repair kit is a com-plete system including a compres-sor and a setting product.
Using the puncture repair kit1. Remove the sticker found in the kit, then stick it on the steering wheel to remind you that you are driving with a w h e e l t h a t i s o n l y fi t f o r t e m p o -rary use and that your speed is therefore limited.2. C o n n e c t t h e fl a s k 1 to the valve of the tyre to be repaired.3. Connect the electric cable to one of the vehicle's 12V sock-ets.
4. With the engine running, start the compressor by pressing on button A until the tyre pressure reaches 2,0 bars. If you cannot reach a pressure of 2 bars, the tyre is not repairable.5. Remove and store the com-pressor.6. Drive off immediately, for a few miles at reduced speed, to allow the puncture repair to set.7. Adjust the tyre pressure using the compressor according to the recommendations for the vehicle, and check that there is no air escaping (no loss of pressure). If you cannot reach a pressure of 2 bars, the tyre is not repairable.8. Do not exceed 110 km/h (68 mph). The tyre must be exam-ined and repaired by a profes-sional as soon as possible.

Access to the spare wheel
To access the spare wheel1. L i f t u p t h e b o o t fl o o r u s i n g t h e fi r s t s t r a p .2. Fold back the boot carpet.3. Attach the second strap to the upper section of the boot.4. To remove the spare wheel, detach the strap then push the wheel forwards so as to be able to lift it.
Tools

To reposition the spare wheel
To put the spare wheel back in the boot1. P o s i t i o n t h e s p a r e w h e e l fl a t i n the boot, then pull it towards you.2. Next place the toolbox inside the wheel, then secure the assembly with the belt.3. Release the strap to return the b o o t fl o o r t o i t s i n i t i a l p o s i t i o n .
Tyre pressures
The tyre pressure is indicated on the label located on the left-hand door centre pillar. See “Vehicle i d e n t i fi c a t i o n ” a n d “ U s e r P r e c a u -tions”. On this label, the pressures a r e s p e c i fi e d d e p e n d i n g o n t h e vehicle speed and load.

Before positioning the jack, always adjust the vehicle's ground clearance to the “maximum height” position and retain this adjustment for as long as the jack is under the veh icle (do not use the hydraulic adjustments).
Never get underneath the vehicle if it is supported only by the jack.

Have the original wheel repaired and refitted as soon as possible.
REMOVAL1. P a r k t h e v e h i c l e o n s t a b l e , fi r m g r o u n d t h a t i s n o t s l i p p e r y . A p p l y t h e parking brake.2. If your vehicle is equipped with “Hydractive III+” suspension, wit h the engine running at idle, adjust the ground clearance to its maximum height. See chapter “Hydractive III+ Suspension”.3. S w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r o r r e v e r s e g e a r d e p e n d i n g on any slope (for a vehicle with automatic gearbox, select posit ion P).4. Position the chock in front of the front wheel diametrically opposite to the one to be replaced.5. Position the jack at one of the four jacking-points provided o n the sub-frame close to the wheels, then use the handle to unwind the jack until it reaches the ground.6. Remove the protector from each bolt using tool 3. See illustration.7. Slacken the wheel bolts.8. Continue to extend the jack until the wheel is a few centimetres off the ground.9. Undo the bolts, remove the wheel.

If the type of wheel is changed, check with your CITROËN dealer that the wheel bolts are compatible with the new wheels.
Note: take care to note down the code number engrav ed on the head of the anti-theft bolt socket. This will enable you to obtain replacement anti-theft bolt sockets from a dealership.
Spare wheel
Y o u r v e h i c l e m a y b e fi t t e d w i t h a different spare wheel to those on t h e v e h i c l e . W h e n fi t t i n g t h e s p a r e wheel, it is normal to notice that the wheel bolt washers do not come into contact with the wheel rim.
The spare wheel is secured by the conical tapering of the wheel bolt’s shaft. See illustration.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e o r i g i n a l w h e e l , ensure that the wheel bolt contact surfaces are clean and in good condition.
R e fi t t i n g a w h e e l1. Fit the wheel on the hub, using the centring guide. Make sure that the contact surface between the hub and the wheel is clean.2. Screw in the bolts but do not fully tighten them.3. Lower the jack and remove it.4. Tighten the wheel bolts, using the wheelbrace.5. R e fi t t h e p r o t e c t o r s o n t h e bolts.6. Return the ground clearance to the normal position. See chap-ter “Hydractive III+ Suspen-sion”.7. Ensure the tyre pressure is c o r r e c t ( s e e “ V e h i c l e i d e n t i fi c a -tion”) and have the balancing checked.

Such wheels have tyre pressure sensors. It is essential to have repairs carried out by a CITROËN dealer.
Anti-theft bolts
Each wheel is equipped with one anti-theft bolt.
To remove it1. Remove the protector using tool 3.2. Use the anti-theft socket with the handle.

TOWING WITH WHEELS ON THE GROUND

Detach the cover:For the front cover, lever with a screwdriver at the top of the cover.
For the rear cover, press on the right hand side.
The ignition key must be in position M to retain steering.
Use a bar with attachments to the towing eyes as above.
The towing eye is removable, to be stowed in the jack protect ion box inside the spare wheel.
