Brief introduction

REGIONAL
REGIONAL ON The tuner continuously tunes, updates and
sorts all available signals, thus updating the
memory, for the area where you are
currently driving. This process causes very
short dropouts; and this is not a malfunction.
Under certain circumstances, operation of the
function can be annoying. You can
switch off the function, and the tuner then has
to check any frequency that you want it to tune
to.
Some stations offer nationwide programming
and also local programmes with modified
content.
You can listen to local content to get
information about local traffic situation and
local events.
If this function is active, the tuner will not switch
to an alternative frequency of a nationwide
station whenever a regional programme has
been tuned; even if the alternative frequency
has stronger signal.REGIONAL OFF

MODE
LEARN Your radio includes a RDS (Radio Data System)
decoder, which receives additional data
transmitted by the majority of FM transmitters.
Your radio displays the names of the stations it
is tuned to.
Nationwide stations use a network of
transmitters operating on different frequencies
to cover the whole country without
interference between transmitters.
Press button to display the tuner
menu. Use preset buttons to select and to
change the options.
Your radio offers a function which reduces drop
outs, allows for better reception and faster
tuning. The radio creates a list of available
signals sorted by program identifier (PI) and
signal strength. This allows the radio to tune to
other frequency with the same program, using
a list of alternative frequencies used by
nationwide stations.11

: Your radio has no regulation of the
output level set at the external device. Please
remember that the highest playback quality
can be reached by setting a proper
combination of input sensitivity (see above)
and output level of the external signal source
usually by means of volume regulators. You
can find more information about settings
especially in the instruction manuals of such
devices.
Try to set the highest possible output level of
the connected device. Lower this level in case
of experiencing sound degradation or
distortion. This degradation does not mean a
failure of your device and may be prevented by
proper setting.
The quality of the reproduced signal depends
also on the recording.12
